This book was released on 2018-08-02 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This complete edition of Solomon Shaw's classic contains all 236 of the author's moving testimonies, arranged into three parts. Originally published in 1898, the Dying Testimonies of Saved and Unsaved were the product of a bold and extensive research project undertaken by the author. Shaw wished to collect and exhibit a range of different words and sentiments delivered by Christians and sinners as they lay close to the threshold of death, to demonstrate how some people die at peace while others die in the throes of fear, anger or sorrow. Some of the testimonies are derived from illustrious historical figures such as Sir Francis Newport and Cardinal Wosley, whilst others were sourced from ordinary Christians and non-believers on their deathbeds. A common theme throughout the book is the tone and topics undertaken by the terminally ill or expiring believers - in most cases, these testimonies evidence an inner peace and a willingness to join with the Lord in Heaven.

Book excerpt: This complete edition of Solomon Shaw's classic contains all 236 of the author's classic testimonies, arranged into three parts. Conversely, those who have committed evil deeds or refused to believe or otherwise assent to the power of God are seen to be prey to various negative emotions. One man, a known local infidel who refused all religious guidance, lets out enraged cries of 'Hell and damnation!' repeatedly until he abruptly falls back and perishes. The 236 testimonies collected in this extensive edition are of varying length; some are brief, consisting only of a few words from the dying person and observations of their condition. Others however are lengthy, with philosophical or spiritual thoughts upon the nature of life and death and the impending departure.

Book excerpt: In this most touching, and spiritually rewarding, book, Shaw records the dying scenes, and the last words, of both the saved and unsaved, both famous and unknown. You will see the tremendous difference between those who are Born Again and those who have refused salvation, as they approach the hour of their death. As one physician once remarked, "Christians die well". Biblical doctrines which saints of God have believed all their lives sustain them wonderfully in the hour of their death.

Book excerpt: Dramatic Testimonies of Near-death Experiences and VisionsVoices from the Edge of Eternity is a compilation of the words and experiences of people both famous and obscure just before their deaths. Young and old, great and small, saint and sinner—these testimonies confirm the biblical doctrines of life after death, judgment for the nonbeliever, and eternal life for those who have accepted Christ as Savior. Included are the experiences of a formidable array of witnesses, such as Martin Luther, Voltaire, John Wesley, Joan of Arc, Thomas Paine, Charles Darwin, Queen Elizabeth I, John Calvin, Napoleon Bonaparte, Peter the Great, and many more. The agreement among the accounts is remarkable in this fascinating collection of thoughts and experiences that shed light on the life that awaits us after death.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book and its predecessor, Dead Man Watching, WestBow Press, 2017, is all about people of Christian faith who have actually or almost died with all the medical indicators. This description can be used in the historical sense, as with Abraham Lincoln or JFK. While there may or may not have been actual medical certificates of death, these stories are nonetheless about people who were actually dead or nearly dead and came to life again or survived near death. The mystery of how this happens in each case is attributed to faith and calling upon the mercy of God in the name of Jesus Christ. The many responses to Dr. John Haart's first book, Dead Man Watching, WestBow Press, 2017, became the motivation for this sequel publication. The author's eagerness to tell his story and witness to the mercy of God in life and death has been met with similar responses on a multiple of occasions, "I also have a story to tell you," or some variation thereof. Those accounts have been recreated as word pictures and some illustrations to provide the reader with the more incredible accounts of revival or survival from death or near death by the mercy of God. The key element of these accounts is prayer and faith as opposed to evening news oddities titled: "Can you believe this actually happened?" This entire story is about the mercy of God from beginning to multiple ends; it is a modern testimony of how God works in mysterious ways through and over many stages of life. The amazing revelation for all those who read these stories is that these are real people who died or almost died, and they are now talking to you about the miraculous interventions of God in death and life again. In a very real way this book is an auto-obituary of those who witnessed their own deaths or near deaths and now live to tell their stories.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times Bestseller • Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize • An Oprah's Book Club Selection “Powerful . . . [Kingsolver] has with infinitely steady hands worked the prickly threads of religion, politics, race, sin and redemption into a thing of terrible beauty.” —Los Angeles Times Book Review The Poisonwood Bible, now celebrating its 25th anniversary, established Barbara Kingsolver as one of the most thoughtful and daring of modern writers. Taking its place alongside the classic works of postcolonial literature, it is a suspenseful epic of one family's tragic undoing and remarkable reconstruction over the course of three decades in Africa. The story is told by the wife and four daughters of Nathan Price, a fierce, evangelical Baptist who takes his family and mission to the Belgian Congo in 1959. They carry with them everything they believe they will need from home, but soon find that all of it—from garden seeds to Scripture—is calamitously transformed on African soil. The novel is set against one of the most dramatic political chronicles of the twentieth century: the Congo's fight for independence from Belgium, the murder of its first elected prime minister, the CIA coup to install his replacement, and the insidious progress of a world economic order that robs the fledgling African nation of its autonomy. Against this backdrop, Orleanna Price reconstructs the story of her evangelist husband's part in the Western assault on Africa, a tale indelibly darkened by her own losses and unanswerable questions about her own culpability. Also narrating the story, by turns, are her four daughters—the teenaged Rachel; adolescent twins Leah and Adah; and Ruth May, a prescient five-year-old. These sharply observant girls, who arrive in the Congo with racial preconceptions forged in 1950s Georgia, will be marked in surprisingly different ways by their father's intractable mission, and by Africa itself. Ultimately each must strike her own separate path to salvation. Their passionately intertwined stories become a compelling exploration of moral risk and personal responsibility.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you missing half the story about the last days? Virtually all attention these days is focused on the coming Antichrist—but he is only half the story. Many people are amazed to discover in Revelation 17 that there is also another mysterious character at the heart of prophecy—a woman who rides the beast. Who is this woman? Tradition says she is connected with the church of Rome. But isn’t such a view outdated? After all, today’s Vatican is eager to join hands with Protestants worldwide. “The Catholic church has changed” is what we hear. Or has it? In A Woman Rides the Beast, prophecy expert Dave Hunt sifts through biblical truth and global events to present a well-defined portrait of the woman and her powerful place in the Antichrist’s future empire. Eight remarkable clues in Revelation 17 and 18 prove the woman’s identity beyond any reasonable doubt. A provocative account of what the Bible tells us is to come.
