Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dino, Jonathan, and Ben have got some problems, mostly with Jackie, Deborah, and Alison. Dino's finally convinced Jackie, the most beautiful girl in school, to go out with him. She drives him mad with lust, but she won't go all the way and relieve Dino of his desperately unwanted virginity. Jonathan likes Deborah. She's smart and funny and she makes him feel very sexy, but she's kind of plump and his mates won't let him hear the end of it. Also, a certain swelling has him convinced that he may have cancer of the penis. Ben's problem is in a different category altogether-- he's been seduced by Alison, the pretty young drama teacher at school. And what seems like a dream come true is actually making him miserable. Award-winning author Melvin Burgess has written a daringly honest and often hilarious account of contemporary teenage life, and the ups and downs that surround DOING IT.

Book excerpt: "Empowering, modern, and judgment-free."—Booklist CONSENT. SEXTING. VIRGINITY. THE BIG O. Sex-positive vlogger Hannah Witton covers it all in this informative and accessible must-have sex education resource for teens Nobody really has sex all figured out. So Hannah Witton wrote a book full of honest, hilarious (and sometimes awkward) anecdotes, confessions, and revelations. Hannah talks about doing it safely. Doing it joyfully. Doing it when you're ready. Not doing it. Basically, doing it the way you want, when you want (if you want). Doing It works as both an educational introduction to sex as well as a guidebook for those who are already sexually active. It offers valuable insight on important topics that teens don't always learn about in sex ed at school, such as healthy relationships, porn, contraception, sex shaming, and more. Approachable and empowering, this is the go-to resource for all things s-e-x.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why is the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities often deemed “risky” or “inappropriate” by teachers, parents, support staff, medical professionals, judges, and the media? Should sexual citizenship depend on IQ? Confronting such questions head-on, Already Doing It exposes the “sexual ableism” that denies the reality of individuals who, despite the restrictions they face, actively make decisions about their sexual lives. Tracing the history of efforts in the United States to limit the sexual freedoms of such persons⎯using methods such as forced sterilization, invasive birth control, and gender-segregated living arrangements—Michael Gill demonstrates that these widespread practices stemmed from dominant views of disabled sexuality, not least the notion that intellectually disabled women are excessively sexual and fertile while their male counterparts are sexually predatory. Analyzing legal discourses, sex education materials, and news stories going back to the 1970s, he shows, for example, that the intense focus on “stranger danger” in sex education for intellectually disabled individuals disregards their ability to independently choose activities and sexual partners—including nonheterosexual ones, who are frequently treated with heightened suspicion. He also examines ethical issues surrounding masturbation training that aims to regulate individuals’ sexual lives, challenges the perception that those whose sexuality is controlled (or rejected) should not reproduce, and proposes recognition of the right to become parents for adults with intellectual disabilities. A powerfully argued call for sexual and reproductive justice for people with intellectual disabilities, Already Doing It urges a shift away from the compulsion to manage “deviance” (better known today as harm reduction) because the right to pleasure and intellectual disability are not mutually exclusive. In so doing, it represents a vital new contribution to the ongoing debate over who, in the United States, should be allowed to have sex, reproduce, marry, and raise children.

You need to be ready -- in your head, and down there. You have to know the right stuff in order to do it. Got questions? Who doesn't. "The Sex Lady" will break it down for you. • Does size matter? • How do you prevent STDs? • What birth control options are there? • If someone says they're a virgin, what does that mean? • Am I ready? Am I normal? The more you know, the easier it is to make safe -- and smart -- decisions about sex.

Book excerpt: Imagine a world where pregnant women are always upbeat and glowing, newborns sleep on cue, toddlers love to have their teeth brushed, and teenagers gaze adoringly at their parents. Impossible, you say? Not according to advertisers who flood the web with stock photos of perfect parents and children. They’d have you believe that parenting is a piece of cake, and every significant moment of family life takes place on a spotless white couch. So when Sara Given, a real mother of a real toddler, saw a picture of a radiant new mother in a cute little sundress breastfeeding her newborn in the middle of a golf course, she finally had enough. She launched a Tumblr, which is now visited by tens of thousands of new parents looking for a daily pick-me-up. Because what better way is there to deal with the stress and strain of being a new parent than laughter? The perfect gift of cheer and solidarity, Parenting Is Easy exploits the disconnect between these preposterous photos and what happens in real life, and makes every reader laugh out loud—and feel better, too, because we’re in on the joke.

Book excerpt: I know what you're hoping...You've got goals and hopes that have pushed you this far in your writing career. It might be "to make a full-time living" or it might be "to get my books in the hands of readers", but whichever side of that continuum you fall into, there's something worthwhile about this pursuit for you.But it's not happening the way you thought. And you're not quite sure why. You're pretty sure there's something wrong with you, or you're doing something you shouldn't be doing. You might have tried some of the things "everyone" says to try and it's just not happening the way they promised it would. Why?You're wondering why you're not actualizing your goals or hopes the way you thought you would. Well, I can tell you why, because I have coached thousands of writers. Six- and seven-figure authors, major award winners, midlisters, and new authors... all across the spectrum of success, method, and personality. The good news is, there are patterns to the way our brains think, and you are both refreshingly unique and also thankfully just like other people in a way that makes your thoughts and fears very normal. We want to dig into those and figure out what's not working for you and why.In other words, you're in the right place. Join me inside these pages to figure out what you're doing wrong, and how to fix it.-Becca

Book excerpt: "Cause and Effect" These two words genuinely sum up the actions taken in the process of life In this post humanist world, that already believes that the life of a person is dependent on the outward agents like like fate , luck and supposedly God, still a humanist thought lurks that Man is the maker of his fate- that he can achieve and do things if he makes up his mind. And in this "doing" are involved the factors of ''Cause and Effect". There is always a reason and outcome of his actions. When William Wordsworth was asked, "what made you write poetry?", He had given the world one of the most famous definitions of poetry- "A Spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings, it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility" As such, our brilliant authors too have answers that they have projected into stories and poems to deal with this age-old question- "What made you do it?"
