Book Synopsis Discarded Treasures by : Andrew G. Robbins
Download or read book Discarded Treasures written by Andrew G. Robbins and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2023-03-12 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The term “Five-Fold ministry” has been coined in reference to a list of five ministry Gifts given by God to enrich His Church as listed in Ephesians 4:11-13. These ministry Gifts are the pastor, apostle, prophet, evangelist, and teacher. Today, a sect of Christianity teaches that the Five-Fold ministry, along with miracles and the Gifts of the Spirit, all ceased with the first apostles. Those who hold this view have become known as “cessationists.” On the other side of the aisle are those who contend that the Five-Fold ministry, along with miracles and Gifts of the Spirit, are continuing today, and these have become known as “continuationists.” Most of the modern Church in the West has behaved as though there is little to no value in Spiritual Gifts and the Five-Fold ministry and has therefore carelessly discarded them, leaving them for “less intelligent” people who seek after “emotionalism.” It was always the Father’s intention, however, that the many manifestations of the benefits of the Holy Spirit would become apparent in value to us through the centuries. This book demystifies Spiritual Gifts, demonstrates the modern-day application of the Five-Fold ministry, and why we are unwise to minimize or ignore them.
Book Synopsis Disciple's Diary by : Cinthia W. Pratt
Download or read book Disciple's Diary written by Cinthia W. Pratt and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-08 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Disciples Diary is the second book in Cindees series written for women journeying to become all that God has created them to be. This edition is a collection of poems, devotional teachings, and reflective narrative, intended to encourage and to provoke thought in those discipled daughters; who may discover that they are now traveling across terrain much like the territories that the heroine in the story crosses. Her Valley of Shadows may be found sitting at the bedside of a terminally ill loved one. Her Wide Wilderness of Want may appear in the form of a bankruptcy or through the loss of a business or a home. Divorce-court proceedings may compose the walls of the dark pit of loneliness, in which the disciple daughter now sits trapped as she watches the fogs of confusion and doubt begin to roll in overhead. A rebellious child, an unfaithful spouse, and seemingly countless unanswered prayers may all contribute to the tangled briers and twisted branches of the wilderness thicket that blocks the suns warmth and light from the path on which the present-day sojourner now travels. Such is the terrain that might be traced on the map of a modern-day disciple daughter. Fearfully Female and Wonderfully Woman: Becoming All That God Created is the first book in Cindee's series and is designed to be a navigational guide for Christian women of all ages and backgrounds. While Disciples Diary is designed as a devotional collection; this book is more informational in format. Topics addressed in this study include body image, self -esteem, developing healthy friendships, growing old in a youth oriented culture, developing our spiritual gifts, and finding our place of ministry. Fearfully Female and Wonderfully Woman would be a valuable reference tool as well as a guide for individual or small group study. http://bookstore.westbowpress.com/Products/SKU-000466986/Fearfully-Female-and-Wonderfully-Woman.aspx

Book excerpt: 25 years after the zombie apocalypse! Mankind has found a winning edge against the zombies. The solution to the zombie threat is a device called a "Lifeline" - a band worn around the neck. The Lifeline decapitates the wearer upon death, preventing the person, who soon becomes a zombie, the mobility to seek out and harm others. Soon the Lifelines became a symbolic comfort tool that removed the stress of a sudden society meltdown and its monitoring capabilities allowed the government to know where you are at all times. Then one day, a citizen wearing a Lifeline, was found in a zombie infested area. The victim was part of a string of kidnappings and murders that were happening right under the government's radar. These undetected actions seem to be caused by a lone serial killer. Now the government is worried that the citizens will find out that a psychopath knows how to manipulate the Lifelines. The government must stop HIM before there is a society meltdown.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Art historian David Lubin examines the work of six nineteenth-century American artists to show how their paintings both embraced and resisted dominant social values. Lubin argues that artists such as George Bingham and Lily Martin Spencer were aware of the underlying social conflicts of their time and that their work reflected the nation's ambivalence toward domesticity, its conflicting ideas about child rearing, its racial disharmony, and many other issues central to the formation of modern America.--From publisher description.
