Book Synopsis Direct Adaptive Control Algorithms by : Howard Kaufman
Download or read book Direct Adaptive Control Algorithms written by Howard Kaufman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 445 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Suitable either as a reference for practising engineers or as a text for a graduate course in adaptive control systems, this is a self-contained compendium of readily implementable adaptive control algorithms. These algorithms have been developed and applied by the authors for over fifteen years to a wide variety of engineering problems including flexible structure control, blood pressure control, and robotics. As such, they are suitable for a wide variety of multiple input-output control systems with uncertainty and external disturbances. The text is intended to enable anyone with knowledge of basic linear multivariable systems to adapt the algorithms to problems in a wide variety of disciplines. Thus, in addition to developing the theoretical details of the algorithms presented, the text gives considerable emphasis to designing algorithms and to representative applications in flight control, flexible structure control, robotics, and drug-infusion control. This second edition makes good use of MATLAB programs for the illustrative examples; these programs are described in the text and can be obtained from the MathWorks file server.

Book Synopsis Control and Dynamic Systems V25 by : C.T. Leonides
Download or read book Control and Dynamic Systems V25 written by C.T. Leonides and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control and Dynamic Systems: Advances in Theory and Application, Volume 25: System Identification and Adaptive Control, Part 1 of 3 deals with system parameter identification and adaptive control. It presents useful techniques for effective stochastic adaptive control systems. This book discusses multicriteria optimization in adaptive and stochastic control systems. After discussing how to estimate the parameters of an autoregressive moving-average (ARMA) process, it identifies instrumental variable methods for ARMA models. This book also presents robust algorithms for adaptive control; design principles for robustness in adaptive identification methods; utilization of robust smoothing; and order reduction of linear systems. This volume is a useful reference for control systems theorists and practitioners interested in system identification and adaptive control techniques.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control and Dynamic Systems: Advances in Theory and Application, Volume 24: Decentralized/Distributed Control and Dynamic Systems, Part 3 of 3 is the third volume of a trilogy that deals with advances in techniques for the analysis and synthesis of decentralized or distributed control and dynamic systems. It also includes articles on many computational issues and techniques. This volume discusses parameter estimation or determination in large-scale systems; use of system zeros in the decentralized control of large-scale systems; and model reference adaptive control for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. The final chapters present some simplified but highly effective and powerful control techniques for decentralized but coordinated control systems. This book is a valuable reference for practitioners in many important applied situations.
Book Synopsis Adaptive and Learning Systems by : Kumpati S. Narendra
Download or read book Adaptive and Learning Systems written by Kumpati S. Narendra and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-22 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume offers a glimpse of the status of research in adaptive and learning systems in 1985. In recent years these areas have spawned a multiplicity of ideas so rapidly that the average research worker or practicing engineer is overwhelmed by the flood of information. The Yale Workshop on Applications of Adaptive Systems Theory was organized in 1979 to provide a brief respite from this deluge, wherein critical issues may be examined in a calm and collegial environment. The fourth of the series having been held in May 1985, it has now become well established as a biennial forum for the lively exchange of ideas in the ever changing domain of adaptive systems. The scope of this book is broad and ranges from theoretical investigations to practical applications. It includes twenty eight papers by leaders in the field, selected from the Pro ceedings of the Fourth Yale Workshop and divided into five sections. I have provided a brief introduction to each section so that it can be read as a self-contained unit. The first section, devoted to adaptive control theory, suggests the intensity of activity in the field and reveals signs of convergence towards some common themes by workers with rather different moti vation. Preliminary results concerning the reduced order model problem are dramatically changing the way we view the field and bringing it closer to other areas such as robust linear control where major advances have been recently reported.

Download or read book Control and Dynamic Systems V40: Advances in Robotic Systems Part 2 of 2 written by C.T. Leonides and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Robotic Systems, Part 2 is the second of a companion set of two volumes on advances in robotic systems dynamics and control. This book comprises nine chapters, with the first focusing on kinesthetic feedback techniques in teleoperated systems. The succeeding chapters then delve into topics such as parallel algorithms and fault-tolerant reconfigurable architecture for robot kinematics and dynamics computations; trajectory planning for robot control; and a control systems perspective. Other chapters cover simplified techniques for adaptive control of robotic systems; theory and applications of configuration control for redundant manipulators; nonlinear feedback for force control of robot manipulators; systolic architectures for dynamic control of manipulators; inverse dynamics; and forward dynamics. This book will be of interest to practitioners in the fields of computer science, systems science, and mathematics.
