Kruise isn’t worried but Shayde, on the other hand, has a foreboding deep within her that she cannot shake and impending doom seems immanent. It doesn’t help that there is a new girl in school that seems to be chomping at the bit to get her mitts into Kruise, and although he seems oblivious to her implications, Shayde finds it hard to leave him to her. Another factor that doesn’t seem to bother Kruise is that the family the Gamics are going to visit are also magical. There is even a boy her age there named Abel. As a new bond between the witches grow, the connection between Shayde and Kruise weakens and she doesn’t know who is to blame. After an unfortunate incident, Shayde and Abel find themselves connected in a way that two people have never experienced before. When another calamitous event has Abel rushing against the clock to save Shayde, he finds what’s truly at risk–losing her and another extraordinary being–both of which the world is so lucky to have. Will he find the answers in time to save Shayde and Aura? And if he succeeds, will the answers found sever connections beyond repair?

Download or read book The ‘Ism’ Dilemma written by George I. Bailey and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2020-11-09 with total page 972 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My wife and I have been born again saved Christians for over 20 years. We do have a non-denominational church home and we study The Holy Bible together regularly at home. We have a blended family with 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. I have worked for 20 years in electric operations and transportation. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Christian Apologetics. The book is primarily about relationship issues that result from illegitimate people groupings in modern day society. The book has an overwhelming focus on the spiritual impact on people, when pride based problems are not properly addressed with a biblical relationship with Jesus Christ. I have personally struggled with many of the people grouping issues discussed in this book; pride has been one such stumbling block for me. Creating this book has in part been a personal journey for me, helping me to heal some of the wounds inflicted upon me by others, as well as heal wounds I’ve caused others. It is my sincere hope and prayer that your journey through this book will heal you and your loved ones, as it has done for me and my family. With God’s help, Christians and Non-Christians alike can all benefit from the experiences, tools, and methods in this book by improving themselves spiritually, and by improving the quality of their relationships with others

Book Synopsis Political Conflict in Pakistan by : Mohammad Waseem
Download or read book Political Conflict in Pakistan written by Mohammad Waseem and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2022-04-01 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a major reinterpretation of politics in Pakistan. Its focus is conflict among groups, communities, classes, ideologies and institutions, which has shaped the country's political dynamics. Mohammad Waseem critically examines the theory surrounding the millennium-long conflict between Hindus and Muslims as separate nations who practiced mingled faiths, and the Hindu, Muslim and Sikh renaissances that created a twentieth-century clash of communities and led to partition. Political Conflict in Pakistan addresses multiple clashes: between the high culture as a mission to transform society, and the low culture of the land and the people; between those committed to the establishment's institutional constitutional framework and those seeking to dismantle the "colonial" state; between the corrupt and those seeking to hold them to account; between the political class and the middle class; and between civil and military power. The author exposes how the ruling elite centralised power through the militarisation and judicialization of politics, rendering the federalist arrangement an empty shell and thus grossly alienating the provinces. He sets all this within the contexts of education and media as breeders of conflict, the difficulties of establishing an anti-terrorist regime, and the state's pragmatic attempts at conflict resolution by seeking to keep the outsiders inside. This is a wide-ranging account of a country of contestations.
Book Synopsis Dilemmas of a Double Life by : Nancy B. Kaltreider

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nancy Kaltreider was one of only four women in Harvard Medical School's Class of 1964. She is no stranger to the Dilemmas of a Double Life, to the challenges of balancing competing priorities in order to engage in the love AND the work that Freud defined as essential for fulfilment. But Freud was referring to men, of course, in advance of the gender role expansion whereby women's traditional imperatives have been unprecedentedly elasticized: not until our time have women enjoyed so much access to education and opportunity in the first half of life and so many options for reinventing themselves in the second half.

Do you want to discover real solutions that are biblical, effective, and easy to understand? If the answer is yes, then this book offers the answers you are seeking! Readers will discover the reasons why believers in Christ, like everyone else, have doubting quandaries about such significant topics as God, the Bible, especially the story of creation. In presenting the only effective solution that comes through God's grace, this book will unveil the intimate relationship between heaven's rebellion and the creation event. It will also reveal why there is such an aggressive, present-day effort to present the creation story as a myth or parable rather than a literal, historical event.

Book Synopsis Virtue Ethics for the Real World by : Howard J. Curzer
Download or read book Virtue Ethics for the Real World written by Howard J. Curzer and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-02-10 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Virtue Ethics for the Real World: Improving Character without Idealization, Howard J. Curzer argues that character ideals seduce virtue ethicists into counterintuitive claims, mislead and psychologically harm people seeking to improve their characters, and sometimes become tools for exploitation. Curzer offers a theory of Aristotelian virtue ethics that eschews idealization and that harmonizes with common sense. To explain the many dilemmas of ordinary life, he allows that different virtues sometimes enjoin incompatible actions and even enjoin actions that conflict with duty. Curzer defends the doctrine of the mean, arguing that idealized traits such as unilateral forgiveness, universal civility, unconditional commitments, and unlimited generosity are not virtues. He shows that the reciprocity of virtues doctrine depends upon idealization and rejects it. When undergirding his theory, Curzer wears several hats. He is a eudaimonist when grounding virtue, a constructivist when grounding value, and a perspectivist (a la Nietzsche) when grounding virtuous action. How can people improve without aiming at an ideal? Curzer offers an individualized approach to character improvement modeled on contemporary medicine. First, diagnose each person’s character flaws. Then tailor treatment plans to each flaw. An important tool is a fine-grained table of the components of character, their failure modes, and corresponding therapies. Curzer provides the beginnings of such a table.
