Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book The Court of Reason written by Beatrix Himmelmann and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2021-11-08 with total page 1990 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Proceedings present the contributions to the 13th International Kant Congress which was held at the University of Oslo, August 6-9, 2019. The congress, which hosted speakers from more than thirty countries and five continents, was dedicated to the topic of the court of reason. The idea that reason stands before itself as a tribunal characterizes the whole of Kant's critical project. Without such a court, reason falls into conflict with itself. With such a court in place, however, it may succeed in establishing the possibility and limits of metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, law and science. The idea of reason being its own judge is not only pivotal to a proper understanding of Kant's philosophy, but can also shed light on the burgeoning fields of meta-philosophy and philosophical methodology. The 2019 Kant Congress put special emphasis on Kant's methodology, his account of conceptual critique, and the relevance of his ideas to current issues in especially political philosophy and the philosophy of law. Additional sections discussed a wide range of topics in Kant's philosophy. The Proceedings will provide anyone who is interested in exploring the variety of present-day work on Kant and Kantian themes with a wealth of fruitful inspiration.
Book Synopsis Critique of Pure Reason by : Immanuel Kant
Download or read book Critique of Pure Reason written by Immanuel Kant and published by Newcomb Livraria Press. This book was released on 2023-10-02 with total page 535 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new translation of Immanuel Kant’s 1787 Critique of Pure Reason(second edition) in modern American English with the original German in the back. This is Volume VII in The Complete Works of Immanuel Kant from Newcomb Livraria Press. Kant's Critique of Pure Reason lays the foundation of his Systematic Metaphysics published across a dozen works with the singular aim of 'fixing' the field by reconciling Rationalism, Idealism, and Empiricism to move Metaphysics into a full form of Science, much, in the same manner, the Greeks did to Logic or The Renaissance logicians to the hard sciences. Kant sparked a metaphysical revolution which he understands as akin to the Copernican revolution. The question of how the iterations of the transcendent 'I' through time and space can 'know' anything (make synthetic a priori judgments) with any level of certainty takes the proscenium in the Critique. David Hume's fundamental error in Kant's view is that he assumes a Rationality which is Techne without Telos, a description only of what is, not what should be. To this end, he uses a Greek conception of Rationality as logos within a Platonic Ontology, splitting reality into two subdivisions between form and sense- perception, between Numinal and a phenomenological world. As physics is pure science, metaphysics is pure philosophy; "Pure knowledge of reason from mere concepts is called pure philosophy, or metaphysics... Metaphysics, then, both of nature and of morals, and especially the critique of reason venturing out on its own wings, which precedes it in a propaedeutic way, are actually the only things that we can call philosophy in the true sense of the word".

Download or read book Kant und Hegel über Freiheit written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-10-11 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Flach presents Kant’s conception of freedom as well as its potential for understanding what it means to be human. Krijnen presents Hegel’s conception of freedom and shows that Kant’s conception underestimates an essential feature of freedom. The contributions of other authors assess the results.
Download or read book Architecture written by Hans Kollhoff and published by Prestel Publishing. This book was released on 2002 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hans Kollhoff is one of Germany's most widely discussed and prominent architects, his works ranging from the high-rise at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, and the conversion of the former Berliner Reichsbank to the Foreign Office of the new Berlin Republic. Kollhoff continues to define the essence of contemporary architecture while maintaining the standard of excellence and attention to detail that recall the world's classic structures. This volume offers a close examination of twelve buildings, designed by Kollhoff between 1996 and 2001. Each building is depicted in five full-page duotone photographs, dramatically illustrating their facades' tectonic structure and highlighting Kollhoff's characteristic use of light and shadow. An in-depth essay by architectural theorist Fritz Neumeyer analyzes Kollhoff's many important contributions to the urban landscape.

This book was released on 2010-07-24 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Karl Leonhard Reinhold (1757-1823) is a complex figure of the late German Enlightenment. Sometime Catholic priest and active Mason even when still a cleric in Vienna; early disciple of Kant and the first to try to reform the Critique of Reason; influential teacher and prolific author; astute commentator on the immediate post-Kantian scene; and at all times convinced propagandist of the Enlightenment––in all these roles Reinhold reflected his age but also tested the limits of the values that had inspired it. This collection of essays, originally presented at an international workshop held in Montreal in 2007, conveys this multifaceted figure of Reinhold in all its details. In the four themes that run across the contributions––the historicity of reason; the primacy of moral praxis; the personalism of religious belief; and the transformation of classical metaphysics into phenomenology of mind––Reinhold is presented as a catalyst of nineteenth century thought but also as one who remained bound to intellectual prejudices that were typical of the Enlightenment and, for this reason, as still the representative of a past age. The volume contains the text of two hitherto unpublished Masonic speeches by Reinhold, and a description of recently recovered transcripts of student lecture notes dating to Reinhold’s early Jena period.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
