This research explores the development of Israeli approaches to water resource management that enabled the implementation of spatial planning patterns and water infrastructure projects. I argue that this implementation has led to a nation-building project that pivots around two central issues; the first is controlling the movement and livelihoods of Palestinian people while detaching them from their natural environment, as discussed through the case of Al Battouf Valley (a Galilean region). The second is the transformation of nature where Israel sought to control nature in the service of the nation-state.
