Este trastorno anatómico que da lugar a la miopía es responsable de que ciertas patologías tengan una incidencia superior en estos pacientes. Entre ellas el desprendimiento de retina regmatógeno (DRR) que se manifiesta como un despegamiento de la capa de fotorreceptores de la retina respecto al epitelio pigmentario tras producirse una rotura de todas las capas de la retina, producida generalmente por un tracción sobre la misma a causa del deterioro del vítreo. Su incidencia en miopes es de 1,02%, 10 veces superior que en la población general, entre 0,1% y 0,3%...
