In 1919 he was transferred to the Army because of its benefits. After long time commanded an infantry company, was Rommel 1929 tactics instructor at the Infantry School in Dresden. After further use as battalion commander, he commanded successively the important military schools in Potsdam and Wiener Neustadt.
