Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Histological observations of human embryos hitherto have been carried out using paraffin sections of 5 to 10 μm thickness, stained with the H-E method or simply with carmine. Because of the thickness, cells are arranged in 2 or 3 layers in one section and the histological details are not always clear. This book provides detailed morphological features of a very well preserved human embryo with fifteen somites. The sections are about 0.75 μm thick and stained with toluidine blue. The thinness of sections and clearness of staining reveal the histological details of this embryo very accurately. A complete set of high quality photomicrographs are presented for each of the selected sections. The high resolution of the photomicrographs will enable easy comparison with the literature. The clear presentation in this book of embryonic development is increasingly important and highly relevant for in-vitro fertilization, and thus of interest to reproductive biologists as well as anatomists.

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 111 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1967, the present author published as a monograph "Histological studies of the human thyroid gland observed from the viewpoint of its postnatal development" based upon the quantitative measurements of thyroid tissue compo nents in 326 cases ranging in age from immediately after birth to 88 years. Through successive intermediate zones, newborn, infant, child and pubertal on one hand and through a transitional zone presenile on the other hand, the realm of interest concerning in medicine recently has been extended from the main trunk of the adult towards two poles, senile (gerontology) and embryonic (prena talogy). The problem of the thyroid gland is no exception to this recent trend (Boyd, 1950) and also seems to be one of the most topic endocrine subjects from the standpoint of this view (Russel et at., 1957; Carr et at., 1959; Smith et at., 1961; Pickering, 1964; Pickering et al., 1958, 1961, 1963; French et al., 1964). A survey of the literature shows considerable numbers of papers dealing with the developmental histology of the prenatal human thyroid gland. Earlier, Dr.
Book Synopsis Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Volume Three by : Michael J. Shea, Ph.D.
Download or read book Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Volume Three written by Michael J. Shea, Ph.D. and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2010-11-30 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr. Michael J. Shea’s series on Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is based on healthcare providers physically sensing love and accessing a deep sense of warmth and stillness in the heart. He begins this third volume by emphasizing the therapeutic application of touch therapy skills. As in the previous two books, he teaches these skills by explaining the importance of practitioners being able to perceive Primary Respiration, a slow rhythmic tidal movement in the fluids of the body. He goes on to discuss the distinctive influence of human embryology on any therapeutic modality. A number of other experts in the field contribute chapters that illuminate the spiritual and psychological dimensions of human embryonic development, especially the heart. Dr. Shea offers valuable new skills for anyone, from midwives to pediatricians, working therapeutically with infants. In addition, he summarizes current thinking on infant brain development, discusses the long-term consequences of attachment issues between the mother and infant, and explores the importance of understanding the similarities of the mother-infant and the therapistpatient relationships.

Download or read book The Human Embryo written by Shigehito Yamada and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2012-03-02 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Human embryology is now rapidly moving to a new phase due to recent innovation and advances of life science including ES and iPS technology. This new era also directs a difficult challenge for scientists in terms of technological and ethical issues for future human embryology. However, human embryology is difficult to research due to ethics involved in the collection of human materials. This book traces the early history and provides knowledge on demonstration of principles from ancient to the most recent embryo studies amidst the unresolved scientific and ethical issues. We hope this book will help the readers to understand human embryo development better.
