Durch den Bewegungsmangel werden häufiger Aggressionen aufgebaut, die körperliche und geistige Entwicklung wird negativ beeinflusst, das soziale Lernen wird behindert, die Konzentration eingeschränkt und Krankheiten oder Übergewicht eher hervorgerufen. Doch welche Art von Bewegung ist für Kinder richtig? Reicht die Alltagsbewegung und das davon ausgehende Ausmaß an Bewegung für den Erhalt der Gesundheit? Und wie viel Bewegung braucht ein Kind täglich? Die vielen Fragen nach der Bedeutung und dem Ausmaß der sportlichen Aktivitäten für die Entwicklung der Kinder ist seit Jahren Diskussions- und Untersuchungsgegenstand der sportwissenschaftlichen Forschung (Neumann 1957, Steinbach 1964, Kunath 1968, Matthesius/Müller 1972, Heinemann 1974, Sack 1975, Singer/Haase 1975, Vanek/Hosek 1977). Laut Medienberichten zufolge ist „Bewegung oft ein Allheilmittel“ (Jansen 2014). Wir wissen, dass Sport gegen Übergewicht gut ist und es eine große Bedeutung in der Freizeitbeschäftigung und bei der Prävention von verschiedenen Krankheiten hat. Glaubt man den vielen Medien, soll Sport und Bewegung „schön“ und „schlau“ (Jansen 2014) machen. Mit Hilfe von Studien und einigen Tests, werde ich das Thema, dass Sport „schlau“ macht, kritisch betrachten. So heißt es in einer Studie von Petra Jansen aus dem Institut für Sportwissenschaft an der Universität Regensburg (2014) „Macht Bewegung unsere Kinder wirklich schlauer? Neue Erkenntnisse zum Zusammenhang von Bewegung und kognitiven Fähigkeiten bei Kindern und Jugendlichen“ (Jansen 2014), dass es wissenschaftlich bewiesen ist, dass sich Bewegung und Sport positiv auf bestimmte kognitive Fähigkeiten, sowie emotionale und soziale Entwicklungsprozesse bei Kindern, auswirkt.

Here Leslie Kurke analyzes the ideological functions of Greek coinage as one of a number of symbolic practices that arise for the first time in the archaic period. By linking the imagery of metals and coinage to stories about oracles, prostitutes, Eastern tyrants, counterfeiting, retail trade, and games, she traces the rising egalitarian ideology of the polis, as well as the ongoing resistance of an elitist tradition to that development. The argument thus aims to contribute to a Greek "history of ideologies," to chart the ways ideological contestation works through concrete discourses and practices long before the emergence of explicit political theory. To an elitist sensibility, the use of almost pure silver stamped with the state's emblem was a suspicious alternative to the para-political order of gift exchange. It ultimately represented the undesirable encroachment of the public sphere of the egalitarian polis. Kurke re-creates a "language of metals" by analyzing the stories and practices associated with coinage in texts ranging from Herodotus and archaic poetry to Aristotle and Attic inscriptions. She shows that a wide variety of imagery and terms fall into two opposing symbolic domains: the city, representing egalitarian order, and the elite symposium, a kind of anti-city. Exploring the tensions between these domains, Kurke excavates a neglected portion of the Greek cultural "imaginary" in all its specificity and strangeness.
