Book excerpt: In this paper, we propose a new hybrid neutrosophic multi criteria decision making (MCDM) framework that employs a collection of neutrosophic analytical network process (ANP), and order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) under bipolar neutrosophic numbers. The MCDM framework is applied for chief executive officer (CEO) selection in a case study at the Elsewedy Electric Group, Egypt. The proposed approach allows us to assemble individual evaluations of the decision makers and therefore perform accurate personnel selection. The outcomes of the proposed method are compared with those of the related works such as weight sum model (WSM), weight product model (WPM), analytical hierarchy process (AHP), multi-objective optimization based on simple ratio analysis (MOORA) and ANP methods to prove and validate the results.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Zadeh's fuzzy set theory incorporates the impreciseness of data and evaluations, by imputting the degrees by which each object belongs to a set. Its success fostered theories that codify the subjectivity, uncertainty, imprecision, or roughness of the evaluations. Their rationale is to produce new flexible methodologies in order to model a variety of concrete decision problems more realistically. This Special Issue garners contributions addressing novel tools, techniques and methodologies for decision making (inclusive of both individual and group, single- or multi-criteria decision making) in the context of these theories. It contains 38 research articles that contribute to a variety of setups that combine fuzziness, hesitancy, roughness, covering sets, and linguistic approaches. Their ranges vary from fundamental or technical to applied approaches.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bipolar neutrosophic matrices (BNM) are obtained by bipolar neutrosophic sets. Each bipolar neutrosophic number represents an element of the matrix. The matrices are representable multi-dimensional arrays (3D arrays). The arrays have nested list data type. Some operations, especially the composition is a challenging algorithm in terms of coding because there are so many nested lists to manipulate. This paper presents a Python tool for bipolar neutrosophic matrices. The advantage of this work, is that the proposed Python tool can be used also for fuzzy matrices, bipolar fuzzy matrices, intuitionistic fuzzy matrices, bipolar intuitionistic fuzzy matrices and single valued neutrosophic matrices.

Book excerpt: This book provides an examination of applications of soft computing techniques related to healthcare systems and can be used as a reference guide for assessing the roles of various techniques. Soft Computing Techniques in Connected Healthcare Systems presents soft computing techniques and applications used in healthcare systems, along with the latest advancements. The authors examine how connected healthcare is the essence of combining a practical operative procedure of interconnectedness of electronic health records, mHealth, clinical informatics, electronic data exchange, practice management solutions, and pharmacy management. The book focuses on different soft computing techniques, such as fuzzy logic, ANN, and GA, which will enhance services in connected health systems, such as remote diagnosis and monitoring, medication monitoring devices, identifying and treating the underlying causes of disorders and diseases, improved access to specialists, and lower healthcare costs. The chapters also examine descriptive, predictive, and social network techniques and discuss analytical tools and the important role they play in enhancing the services to connected healthcare systems. Finally, the authors address real-time challenges with real-world case studies to enhance the comprehension of topics. This book is intended for under graduate and graduate students, researchers, and practicing professionals in the field of connected healthcare. It provides an overview for beginners while also addressing professionals in the industry on the importance of soft computing approaches in connected healthcare systems.

Book excerpt: In this paper we present for the first time the concept of symbolic plithogenic random variables and study its properties including expected value and variance. We build the plithogenic formal form of two important distributions that are exponential and uniform distributions. We find its probability density function and cumulative distribution function in its plithogenic form. We also derived its expected values and variance and the formulas of its random numbers generating. We finally present the fundamental form of plithogenic probability density and cumulative distribution functions. All the theorems were proved depending on algebraic approach using isomorphisms. This paper can be considered the base of symbolic plithogenic probability theory.

Book excerpt: In this paper, we extend the VIKOR (VIsekriterijumska optimizacija i KOmpromisno Resenje) strategy to multiple attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) with bipolar neutrosophic set environment. In this paper, we first define VIKOR strategy in bipolar neutrosophic set environment to handle MAGDM problems, which means we combine the VIKOR with bipolar neutrosophic number to deal with MAGDM.
