Afin de répondre à ces questions, des bilans (orthophoniques, psychomoteurs et psychologiques) ont été réalisés auprès de 4 jeunes enfants sourds et de 4 jeunes enfants entendants de même âge et de même sexe, et ce grâce à des grilles d'observation. Les résultats obtenus ont été comparés et analysés. Ainsi, on se rend compte que l'enfant sourd comme l'enfant entendant suivent les mêmes étapes de développement du langage oral, mais le rythme n'est pas le même : l'enfant sourd démarre son langage oral plus tardivement que l'enfant entendant, mais son rythme est plus rapide grâce à l'apport de la prise en charge spécifique et globale.
