Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus gave His believers a very clear warning: “Take heed and let no man deceive you.” The problem with deception is that those who are deceived do not know that they are deceived. Deception is the tool of Satan to try and lead people away from the salvation that God has promised through His Word, the Bible. This manuscript explores the history, doctrines, and teachings of two major cults, analyzing them to see if they comply with the promises God makes in His Word, or are they deceptions designed to lead people astray and into outer darkness. Damned Deceptions also follows the logic of the teachings of these cults to see what they are actually claiming and offering their followers. Do people truly realize what they are saying when they teach their doctrines? These are beliefs that you cannot get wrong, because if you have been deceived and are wrong, God’s Word tells us that you will be damned. If what you believe about God, the Bible, and Jesus is wrong, wouldn’t you like to know the truth? This book offers just that: the truth based upon what God says in His Word. This book looks at the Bible as a legally binding contract between God and man. It reviews and analyzes the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Latter-day Saints in light of contract law, to see if their teachings and doctrine would hold up in a court of law, or are they nothing more than deceptions that will lead believers to be lost for eternity.

Book Synopsis Trusting Medicine by : Patricia Illingworth
Download or read book Trusting Medicine written by Patricia Illingworth and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-12-07 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Providing a fascinating overview of healthcare spending and cost-containment mechanisms in the US, this book explores the consequences of managed care for the community with particular attention paid to doctor-patient relationships. The author studies this significant relationship from a social perspective arguing that shifting financial risk onto doctors in a profit-making system seriously damages patient trust. In addition this undermines overall social capital, which in turn has been linked to health outcomes. Including case study examples and policy implications, this insightful text explores an important, though little-discussed outcome of healthcare reform and will be a welcome addition to the current healthcare literature.

Book Synopsis Love and Deception by : James Hanning
Download or read book Love and Deception written by James Hanning and published by Corsair. This book was released on 2021-09-30 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'James Hanning's book is excellent . . . The fascination of Love & Deception lies in the meticulously detailed account it gives of Philby's strange half-life in Beirut, where he was banished in 1956' Guardian Love & Deception is the extraordinary story of how Eleanor, an able, cultured American living in the espionage hot spot of 1950s Beirut, fell in love with the kindest of men. Unknown to her, that man, Kim Philby, was under suspicion by the British and US intelligence services of having secretly signed up to help the Russians fight fascism in the 1930s, and of remaining in their pay at the height of the Cold War. Despite his mysterious past, Eleanor adored and married Philby, but the strength of their love was challenged as the net steadily closed in on him. The outline of Philby's story is familiar to many, but Love & Deception breaks remarkable new ground. Through extensive research, Hanning produces an eye-opening tale of friendship, politics, love and loyalty. 'Fascinating and superbly researched' TLS 'I am always gripped by the Philby story and James Hanning succeeds in putting new flesh on this fascinating period in his double life . . . I thoroughly recommend it' Marina Hyde 'If ever there was a cautionary tale about the true costs of male privilege in the higher echelons of the British establishment - this is it' Amanda Foreman

Book Synopsis The Kinsman Redeemer by : Dennis Knotts
Download or read book The Kinsman Redeemer written by Dennis Knotts and published by Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency. This book was released on 2023-03-10 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Each of us is faced with an impossible problem. Each of us has broken some portion of God’s Law. (That’s called sin.) Unfortunately, this means we are destined to stand before God at the Great White Throne Judgment at the end of time. God’s Law is pure law. It is cold, logical, unemotional, and perfect. It is just. It is righteous. But, as such, it does not offer grace, compassion, forgiveness, or hope. Therefore, each of us will be found guilty and sentenced to the Lake of Fire. That is our eternal fate under God’s Law. God does not want to do this, but His Law forces Him to find us guilty and sentence us to suffer for all eternity. How can God avoid the demands of the Law, fulfill the letter of the Law, keep the Law intact, and still deal with us in love, grace, and compassion? God is able to use a little-known clause in His Law to offer a solution to this problem. It is a plea bargain agreement to satisfy the Law and still save us. To this end, He wrote the Bible, a legally binding contract, to offer an escape.

Download or read book Iceland's Bell written by Halldor Laxness and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2007-12-18 with total page 446 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the acclaimed Nobel Prize winner: At the close of the 17th century, Iceland is an oppressed Danish colony, suffering under extreme poverty, famine, and plague. A farmer and accused cord-thief named Jon Hreggvidsson makes a bawdy joke about the Danish king and soon after finds himself a fugitive charged with the murder of the king’s hangman. In the years that follow, the hapless but resilient rogue Hreggvidsson becomes a pawn entangled in political and personal conflicts playing out on a far grander scale. Chief among these is the star-crossed love affair between Snaefridur, known as “Iceland’s Sun,” a beautiful, headstrong young noblewoman, and Arnas Arnaeus, the king’s antiquarian, an aristocrat whose worldly manner conceals a fierce devotion to his downtrodden countrymen. As their personal struggle plays itself out on an international stage, Laxness creates a Dickensian canvas of heroism and venality, violence and tragedy, charged with narrative enchantment on every page. Sometimes grim, sometimes uproarious, and always captivating, Iceland's Ball is at once an updating of the traditional Icelandic saga and a caustic social satire.
Book Synopsis The Blood Atonement Deception by : Gerald Sigal
Download or read book The Blood Atonement Deception written by Gerald Sigal and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-11-19 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE ATONEMENT DECEPTION, explores the Christian theological fiction that belief in Jesus is the only way to receive divine forgiveness for ones sins. Biblically, both Jews and gentiles can receive forgiveness of sins through sincere repentant confessionary prayer directed to the God of Israel. This is true at all times and in all places. There has never been a need for the so-called intercession role Jesus is supposed to play in attaining atonement. The facts speak for themselves. There is no truth to the Christian contention that Jesus died for our sins and salvation is only through Jesus. Jesus death does not bring atonement from sin nor is it in any way a fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
