Book excerpt: Daisy and Friends Outside Our Window is a rhyming story for toddlers and pre-kindergarteners about the changing seasons. It’s written from inside the house window looking out, as seen by Daisy the cat, and her three dog friends, Smokie, Rocky, and H-Dee. What do the friends see, when the colorful seasons change from winter to spring, and summer to fall? Says the author, “During my years as a co-owner of Kids Express Learning Center & Daycare, LLC, I would often observe the toddler and Pre-K children looking out the window. I would ask the children to describe what they were looking at.” A portion of the proceeds from the Daisy and Friends book series benefits three charities: Kitty Angels, a no-kill cat shelter in Coventry, Connecticut; Protectors of Animals, a no-kill animal shelter and rescue, and Bandit’s Place, Inc., a pet rescue and adoption center, both in East Hartford, Connecticut. This is the third book in the series. Her next book is on transportation and is titled Daisy and Friends Waiting for the School Bus.

It is different, because it is a veritable smrgsbord of juicy subjects that I had encountered over the past 92 years of life on this planet; and I feel comfortable, and privileged to share these many stories with you. Over the past many years, I have encountered many situations, that have made me laugh, and some that made me cry - I have reflected those emotions in, a wholesome manner, in my stories, that will allow, you the reader, a few moments, to share those treasured moments of the past with me. We will relive my 67th wedding anniversaries' happiness when we read THE FOREVER DAY; we will re-experience my early year's frustrations when learning to water-ski, and sadly, we will cry when we learn about the trials and tribulations of Alzheimer's disease.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Eight Windows By Joseph A. Koncelik Eight Windows is a fictional story spanning 100 years. The author grew up on the south shore of Long Island and has roots in the Czech community, the Episcopal Church and the life on Great South Bay from which this story is drawn. At one time, this place was the location of numerous estates built by New York City’s blue bloods – including private churches that reflected their wealth and life style. The tale begins with the creation of eight Tiffany windows for a church built on an estate in 1912 overlooking Great South Bay in the Town of Oakdale. This fictional estate is called Kairos by a turn-of-the-century Wall Street tycoon, Cedric Vandercamp. The story flexes from the present day to flashbacks in time during the creation of the windows by a talented young priest, Julius Cherveny, and the wife of Vandercamp, Eleanor Bouffort Vandercamp, but removed from the church and hidden by Eleanor’s abusive and jealous husband. Those precious and priceless windows are rediscovered in 2012 and stolen in an elaborate plot by a murdering thief named Karl Banecek, an accomplice, Emil Joaquim Darktow, and his cohorts called Saligia. A mysterious priest with secret connections to the crime enlists the aid of a female private detective, one Daisy Patience Fleabane Reidlos. She is charged with uncovering the plot, catching the murderer of a church sexton who protected the windows and retrieving them. Greed is the common theme spanning the 20th century; one of the seven deadly sins. Those sins are represented by members of Saligia. They are opposed with righteous force by the presence of a church vestry made up of seven heavenly virtues. Woven into the story is the ill-fated love affair of two star-crossed lovers who design the windows; the resurgence of the Kairos estate, first as a destination wedding location by the nefarious antagonists, and eventually as a mission-based rehabilitation center when the estate is recovered for the Episcopal Church. That weaving of this story also includes an unusual connection between a clever private detective and a powerful Mafioso don. The reader will find authenticity in the story through its connection to a time, place and the personalities of people who contribute to the broad diversity of Long Island. The author has provided illustrations of the windows as well as more than 20 other drawings to illuminate the tale.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book came about during a time of despairity. I had lost my job and had been out of work for over two years. I then decided to look within to try to help my family stay affloat in our new world of so many uncertainties. I wrote this book out of my pain, insecurities, struggles, and many adversities. This book was written from one victim to another to help them realize that "we" can take all that we ́ve been through and become empowered by it rather than to blame others or sulk. This book was designed to help bring the winner out of people that has once felt like a failure, it ́s also to free people that has victimized others and encourage them to come to true repentance & completely change their way of thinking as well as their way of life. This book was written by a tender flower that throughout the process of writting this book has since grown into a cement rose. I ́m much stronger then I used to be but even with all that has transpired in my life, I still dare to truly love others and genuinely care about them. Thank you for reading my books, God bless!

The two are national champions, top of their game, alone and intent on staying that way. Cody has rejected everything about his past, and only has room for his little brother, Carl Joseph, born with Down Syndrome. Ali embraces life, making the most of every moment because of a secret she keeps hidden from the public, connecting her with a sister who died before she had a chance to live. Before their paths intersect, competing is all they need, but what fears must they face if together they ignite a love that burns brighter than both of them? In Just Beyond the Clouds, Cody is nursing a broken heart over the death of the love of his life, when he meets Elle Dalton, Carl Joseph's teacher. Cody can't bear the thought of losing his little brother, too, so when Elle begins championing Carl Joseph's independence, she finds herself at odds with Cody. But even while they battle it out, they can't deny the instinctive connection they share, and Cody faces a crisis of the heart. What if Elle is the one woman who can teach Cody that love is still possible? In the brand-new omnibus edition, Karen Kingsbury's continuing story of devotion, tragedy, and renewal, comes to life, teaching that while love often causes the heart to break, it's also the only thing that can mend it again.

Book excerpt: A humble young woman enters high society, where she finds both deceit and a chance at love in the New York Times–bestselling author’s Edwardian romance. Daisy Jenkins never expects to be anything more than a trespasser on the idyllic lawns of Marsden Castle. But when her guardian dies, she discovers her true name and station. As Lady Chatterton, she enters the elite circle of the Earl and Countess of Nottenstone, where she awaits the return of her father—a notorious Lord she’s never met. Unschooled in the ways of society, Daisy is now surrounded by aristocratic sharks who seem to both court and mock her. And why is the elegant Duke of Oxenden offering his protection to this newcomer who makes him laugh at the very word "love"? Daisy is determined to show them all. She’ll prove there’s such a thing as true love, no matter how hard, or how far she must search to find it!
