This book was released on 2001 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 1993-06-09 with total page 438 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This outstanding reference provides a comprehensive discussion of magnetoelasticity based on three accepted descriptions of magnetostriction: elastomagnetic matrices, a group symmetrical description, and a tensor formalism. It explores recent advances that rely mainly on Callen's work and emphasizes the influence of temperature, stress, and composition on the Joule magnetostriction of soft ferromagnets. The author offers a comprehensive examination of magnetoelastic effects useful for a variety of significant applications, including the Villari-, direct and inverse Wiedemann-, Matteuci-, ?E-, and invar-effects. This vital work also addresses fundamental topics, including pressure dependence of the Curie temperature, form effect, and magnetostriction in paramagnets, diamagnets, superconductors, and antiferromagnets. The last chapter is devoted to technical aspects such as experimental methods, technically useful materials (e.g., Terfenol-D and 2605SC Metglas), and various illustrative applications. Magnetostriction is one reference no physicist, materials scientist, or geophysicist should be without.

Download or read book Texture Analysis in Materials Science written by H.-J. Bunge and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-09-03 with total page 614 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Texture Analysis in Materials Science Mathematical Methods focuses on the methodologies, processes, techniques, and mathematical aids in the orientation distribution of crystallites. The manuscript first offers information on the orientation of individual crystallites and orientation distributions. Topics include properties and representations of rotations, orientation distance, and ambiguity of rotation as a consequence of crystal and specimen symmetry. The book also takes a look at expansion of orientation distribution functions in series of generalized spherical harmonics, fiber textures, and methods not based on the series expansion. The publication reviews special distribution functions, texture transformation, and system of programs for the texture analysis of sheets of cubic materials. The text also ponders on the estimation of errors, texture analysis, and physical properties of polycrystalline materials. Topics include comparison of experimental and recalculated pole figures; indetermination error for incomplete pole figures; and determination of the texture coefficients from anisotropie polycrystal properties. The manuscript is a dependable reference for readers interested in the use of mathematical aids in the orientation distribution of crystallites.

Book Synopsis Formability of Metallic Materials by : D. Banabic
Download or read book Formability of Metallic Materials written by D. Banabic and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After a brief introduction into crystal plasticity, the fun- damentals of crystallographic textures and plastic anisotro- py, a main topic of this book, are outlined. A large chapter is devoted to formability testing both for bulk metal and sheet metal forming. For the first time testing methods for plastic anisotropy of round bars and tubes are included. A profound survey is given of literature about yield criteria for anisotropic materials up to most recent developments and the calculation of forming limits of anisotropic sheet me- tal. Other chapters are concerned with properties of workpieces after metal forming as well as the fundamentals of the theory of plasticity and finite element simulation of metal forming processes. The book is completed by a collection of tables of international standards for formability testing and of flow curves of metals which are most commonly used in metal forming. It is addressed both to university and industrial readers.

Download or read book Sheet Metal Forming Processes written by Dorel Banabic and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-06-21 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of virtual manufacturing has been developed in order to increase the industrial performances, being one of the most ef cient ways of reducing the m- ufacturing times and improving the quality of the products. Numerical simulation of metal forming processes, as a component of the virtual manufacturing process, has a very important contribution to the reduction of the lead time. The nite element method is currently the most widely used numerical procedure for s- ulating sheet metal forming processes. The accuracy of the simulation programs used in industry is in uenced by the constitutive models and the forming limit curves models incorporated in their structure. From the above discussion, we can distinguish a very strong connection between virtual manufacturing as a general concept, ?nite element method as a numerical analysis instrument and constitutive laws, aswellas forming limit curves as a speci city of the sheet metal forming processes. Consequently, the material modeling is strategic when models of reality have to be built. The book gives a synthetic presentation of the research performed in the eld of sheet metal forming simulation during more than 20 years by the members of three international teams: the Research Centre on Sheet Metal Forming—CERTETA (Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania); AutoForm Company from Zürich, Switzerland and VOLVO automotive company from Sweden. The rst chapter presents an overview of different Finite Element (FE) formu- tions used for sheet metal forming simulation, now and in the past.
