This book is an attempt to make fellow Christians aware of the signs pointing to Jesuss return. Fig Leaves Forming Summer Is Near is taken from Mathew 24, where his disciples ask Jesus what would be the signs of his return. His disciples were thinking that there would be one event, but their question was actually three questions pertaining to Jesus and his return. Also many times in scriptures, Jesus admonished us to be watching for his return and gave us clues to look for to determine that coming event. Jesus will return!
Book Synopsis NEW TESTAMENT CONTEXTUAL COMMENTARY by : Dr. Robert R. Seyda
Download or read book NEW TESTAMENT CONTEXTUAL COMMENTARY written by Dr. Robert R. Seyda and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2024-03-26 with total page 917 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Apostle John tells his readers, he has an important message to tell them. It is about a person who was already there before the beginning of the world. We heard him speak. We’ve seen Him with our own eyes. We watched Him and we touched Him. He is the Word that gives us life with God. This is the message: God is completely good and pure. He is like light. There is nothing dark about Him. Amazingly, John tells us that one of the things Jesus wanted us to understand is that by loving others we love God. Yes, we do make mistakes and so do other believers but we are not to hold that against them because just as we were given forgiveness by God’s mercy and grace since we are in union with His Son, so can they. What we are not to do is claim access to this privilege but then live like those in the world. Our goal is not just life, but eternal life. After all, we are God’s children and no child of God keeps on sinning after they are born again through Jesus the Anointed One.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As one of the country's most respected evangelical leaders, pastor and author Tony Evans challenges "tweens" (ages 8 to 12) to explore what the armor of God is all about. He understands that Christian kids want to be stronger, more confident, and skilled at living an exciting God-centered life, and so he presents the unvarnished truth. Tony Evans gives kids a plan for success by explaining: Scripture reveals who's behind the world's traps and snares and how to resist him. God offers all Christians a powerful suit of armor and mighty weapons. The suit includes a belt of truth and helmet of salvation to wear and shield of faith to carry into the battle. When every piece of God's armor is worn correctly, the enemy is defeated and Christians finish victorious. By learning how to dress in the armor God provides, preteens are able to speak the truth, stand firm in the faith, and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Craig Martin Barnes explores each of the seven feasts and the antitypical fulfillment of each event as it relates to our redemption. Download or read book Damned Women written by Elizabeth Reis and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 1999-01-18 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In her analysis of the cultural construction of gender in early America, Elizabeth Reis explores the intersection of Puritan theology, Puritan evaluations of womanhood, and the Salem witchcraft episodes. She finds in those intersections the basis for understanding why women were accused of witchcraft more often than men, why they confessed more often, and why they frequently accused other women of being witches. In negotiating their beliefs about the devil's powers, both women and men embedded womanhood in the discourse of depravity.Puritan ministers insisted that women and men were equal in the sight of God, with both sexes equally capable of cleaving to Christ or to the devil. Nevertheless, Reis explains, womanhood and evil were inextricably linked in the minds and hearts of seventeenth-century New England Puritans. Women and men feared hell equally but Puritan culture encouraged women to believe it was their vile natures that would take them there rather than the particular sins they might have committed.Following the Salem witchcraft trials, Reis argues, Puritans' understanding of sin and the devil changed. Ministers and laity conceived of a Satan who tempted sinners and presided physically over hell, rather than one who possessed souls in the living world. Women and men became increasingly confident of their redemption, although women more than men continued to imagine themselves as essentially corrupt, even after the Great Awakening.
Book Synopsis Of the Mortification of Sin in Believers by : John Owen

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A series of addresses focusing mainly on Romans 8, this work gives a well-grounded view on the way of sin in the life of a believer. This aspect of Christianity is often neglected and most people in the faith just accept it with blindly duty. The doctrine has wide ramifications in our theologies as it makes it evident to us how sin works in our lives and whether it should have any kind of hold on us.
Book Synopsis Too Small to Ignore by : Wess Stafford
Download or read book Too Small to Ignore written by Wess Stafford and published by WaterBrook. This book was released on 2010-01-20 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Too Small to Ignore will encourage you to turn your good, loving intentions into strategic actions and empower you to help change the world–and the future–forever, one child at a time. The time has come for a major paradigm shift: Children are too important and too intensely loved by God to be left behind or left to chance. Children belong to all of us and we are compelled to intervene on their behalf. We must invest in children all across the world. In Too Small to Ignore, Dr. Stafford issues an urgent call for change. His adventures as a boy raised in a West African village provide an often-humorous and always-captivating backdrop to his profound and inspiring challenges. Wess lived the reality of “it takes a village to raise a child” and calls us to “be that loving village for children everywhere.”
Book Synopsis Encounter Jesus in Genesis (2) by : Pastor Samuel J. Kim
Download or read book Encounter Jesus in Genesis (2) written by Pastor Samuel J. Kim and published by 도서출판 의제당. This book was released on 2023-08-09 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After they sinned, Adam and Eve made clothes out of fig leaves to hide their shame. That was the first religious attempt to cover up sin with human righteousness and merit. But, they could not truly hide their shame (sin) with these fig leaf garments. God took away their fig leaf garments and gave them tunics made from the skin of a sacrificed lamb. These tunics symbolize God's righteousness, which perfectly and forever hides human shame (sin). The offerings of Adam's sons, Cain and Abel, show the difference between human and God's righteousness. God accepted Abel's offering of the "firstborn of his flock and of their fat" (Genesis 4:4), but He did not receive Cain's gift of "the fruit of the ground" (Genesis 4:3). Religion is about trying to show off human righteousness, which Satan encourages. On the other hand, faith is about trusting in and following God's righteousness, which He has made perfect and gives us as a gift. From the start of Genesis, the Bible tells us that only those who trust and follow God's righteousness are born again by receiving the remission of their sins to enter the everlasting rest that God has prepared.
