Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hank Hanegraaff reveals the code to Revelation. Breaking the code of the book of Revelation has become an international obsession. The result, according to Hank Hanegraaff, has been rampant misreading of Scripture, bad theology, and even bad politics and foreign policy. Hanegraaff argues that the key to understanding the last book of the Bible is the other sixty-five books of the Bible — not current events or recent history and certainly not any complicated charts. The Apocalypse Code offers sane answers to some very controversial questions: What does it mean to take the book of Revelation (and the rest of the Bible) literally? Who are the “Antichrist” and the “Great Whore of Babylon,” and what is the real meaning of “666”? How does our view of the end times change the way we think about the crisis in the Middle East? Are two-thirds of all Jews really headed for an apocalyptic holocaust? The Apocalypse Code is a call to understand what the Bible really says about the end times and why how we understand it matters so much in today’s world. “Provocative and passionate, this fascinating book is a must-read for everyone who’s interested in end-times controversies.” — Lee Strobel, Author, The Case for the Real Jesus “ This book is a withering and unrelenting critique of the positions of apocalyptic enthusiasts — Tim LaHaye. Every fan of the Left Behind series should read this book. The fog will clear, and common sense will return to our reading of the Bible.” — Gary M. Burge, Professor of New Testament, Wheaton College and Graduate School.

Dave Hunt, in his characteristic direct style, answers these pervasive questions: Who is the Antichrist? How will he be recognized? What current events indicate that we really are in the last days of the "last days"? Using Scripture and up-to-date information, Dave draws the exciting conclusion that, indeed, time is short. He then outlines a biblical response and reminds the reader of the hope we have in Christ. This book instructs, encourages, warns, and strengthens readers to "walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:15,16). Table of Contents: 1. The Ultimate Falsehood 2. Peaceful Words, Provocative Deeds 3. Are We There Yet? 4. Measuring What Cannot Be Measured 5. Infinite Mystery, Perpetual Joy 6. The Ultimate Hope

Issues . . . a point or matter, the decision of which is of special or public importance. A dictionary can define the terms, but rightly dividing the prophetic passages of the Bible demands skillful study and balanced reflection upon the whole of Scripture. Vital Prophetic Issues: Examining Promises and Problems in Eschatology draws upon the insights and study of numerous evangelical scholars and writers to address a variety of issues in the field of eschatology. Some of the chapters included are Basic Considerations in Interpreting Prophecy by John F. Walvoord The Premillennial Interpretation of History by Ramesh P. Richard The Necessity of Dispensationalism by Charles C. Ryrie A New Look at Dispensationalism by Roy L. Aldrich Christian readers, church leaders, and pastors will appreciate the helpful scholarship of Vital Prophetic Issues.

Book excerpt: Trumpets were extremely important in the lives of the people of ancient Israel. Through the use of trumpets God spoke to them, guided them, warned them, and directed them. It was the duty of the priests to sound the trumpets at the appropriate times. But sometimes God Himself spoke to them directly, such as at Mt. Sinai, when in awful and terrifying grandeur the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder as the mighty God of heaven descended in fire, and the mountain trembled violently. This spectacular demonstration was to prepare the hearts of the people to receive with reverence and awe the pronouncement of His holy ten commandment law (Ex. 19:16 – 20:21). In fact, trumpets were often connected with the law and the ark of the covenant, which contained it. Priests blowing trumpets were to precede and accompany the ark whenever it was transported. An example of this is found in Joshua 6:1-20, where 7 priests blowing 7 trumpets marched before the ark around the city of Jericho for 7 days, and on the seventh day they blew the trumpets 7 times, and as the people shouted, the walls of the city collapsed. Is the God of heaven any less zealous for His sacred law today than He was in ancient times? Could it be that even now in our day He is allowing trumpets to blow to warn of the impending collapse of the cities of the nations, which are so filled with crime and corruption? Will He not rise from His throne and oversee the final dispensation of justice upon a world, which is careening toward self-destruction? Read the pages of this book and discover the meaning of the extraordinary events that have been happening since the turn of the century, and find the way into the safety of God’s pavilion.

Kennedy's role in developing the United States' space program. Ironically, despite his close association with the race to space, Kennedy initially thought the space program was too expensive and did not support a manned space flight until the Russians sent Yuri Gagarin into orbit just a few months after Kennedy's inauguration. Now, a century after Kennedy's birth, the United States has reached the moon, sent probes into deep space, and had its astronauts spend extended time in space, all of which are a legacy of Kennedy's presidency, Surprising, though, there hasn't been a photographic history of Kennedy's involvement in the space race despite the visual glamour associated with the space race and Kennedy's presidency until this engaging book by two widely respected chroniclers of the race to space"--

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Did the universe begin to exist? If so, did it have a cause? Or could it have come into existence uncaused, from nothing? These questions are taken up by the medieval-though recently-revived-kalam cosmological argument, which has arguably been the most discussed philosophical argument for God's existence in recent decades. The kalam's line of reasoning maintains that the series of past events cannot be infinite but rather is finite. Since the universe could not have come into being uncaused, there must be a transcendent cause of the universe's beginning, a conclusion supportive of theism. This anthology on the philosophical arguments for the finitude of the past asks: Is an infinite series of past events metaphysically possible? Should actual infinites be restricted to theoretical mathematics, or can an actual infinite exist in the concrete world? These essays by kalam proponents and detractors engage in lively debate about the nature of infinity and its conundrums; about frequently-used kalam argument paradoxes of Tristram Shandy, the Grim Reaper, and Hilbert's Hotel; and about the infinity of the future.
