Association truck costs for assembling eggs ranged from to cents a case and averaged cents. Direct labor costs for receiving eggs into plants averaged cents and ranged from to cents a case. Labor output ranged from to cases a man-hour and averaged nearly 78 cases. For candling eggs, the direct labor cost averaged cents a case for five associations and ranged from to cents. Labor output averaged cases a man-hour and ranged from to cases. The direct labor cost of cartoning eggs which includes candling the eggs and placing them in cartons averaged cents a case for five associations. The range was from to cents a case. The aver age labor output was four cases a man-hour and ranged from to cases. The average direct labor cost of packing cartoned eggs was cents a case and ranged from to cents.
