Book Synopsis Key to Parasitic Nematodes, Volume 1 Spirurata and Filariata by : Skryabin
Download or read book Key to Parasitic Nematodes, Volume 1 Spirurata and Filariata written by Skryabin and published by BRILL. This book was released on 1991-11 with total page 509 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first in a series which forms a part of the rich Soviet helminthological literature published in recent years. It deals with 197 species of nematodes belonging to suborders Spirurata and Filariata, re-examining and revising earlier descriptions and concepts related to them. A historical survey of the taxonomy of worms is given first, with keys to the various major groups and diagnoses of the nematode subclasses and orders. Even at this stage, certain new and interesting ideas are put forward. After a general account of the morphology and anatomy of each suborder, a diagnosis of each genius is given, together with an outline and drawing of its type species.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a unique, visual approach to the depiction of parasite life cycles, this detailed atlas presents a clear, concise, and complete overview of the parasite/human host interrelationship. 75 life cycles include all the major protozoan and helminth pathogens of man with new and updated information on several organisms. The illustrations follow the route of infection from point of entry, through the developmental stages, to completion of the cycle as the parasite reinfects the next host. Precise biological anatomical and medical depiction provides reinforcement. Distinguished by its organization, continuity, and accuracy, this comprehensive work will be a valuable reference for students, clinicians and others interested in the field of parasitology.

Book Synopsis The Microbiology of Respiratory System Infections by : Kateryna Kon
Download or read book The Microbiology of Respiratory System Infections written by Kateryna Kon and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2016-06-20 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Microbiology of Respiratory System Infections reviews modern approaches in the diagnosis, treatment, and prophylaxis of respiratory system infections. The book is very useful for researchers, scientists, academics, medical practitioners, graduate and postgraduate students, and specialists from pharmaceutical and laboratory diagnostic companies. The book has been divided into three sections according to the types of respiratory pathogens. The first section contains reviews on the most common and epidemiologically important respiratory viruses, such as influenza virus, severe acute respiratory system coronavirus, and recently discovered Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus. The second section is devoted to bacterial and fungal pathogens, which discusses etiology and pathogenesis including infections in patients with compromised immune system, and infections caused by fungal pathogens, such as Aspergillus and Pneumocystis. The third section incorporates treatment approaches against different types of bacterial infections of the lower respiratory tract. This section reviews classical antimicrobial and phytomedical approaches as well as the application of nanotechnology against respiratory pathogens. - Offers the most up to date information on the microbiology of lower respiratory system infections - Features contributors from across the world, presenting questions of interest to readers of both developed and developing countries - Reviews the most common and epidemiologically important respiratory viruses - Discusses the etiology and pathogenesis of bacterial and fungal pathogens including infections in patients with compromised immune system, and infections caused by fungal pathogens, such as Aspergillus and Pneumocystis

Book Synopsis Key to Parasitic Nematodes by : Skryabin
Download or read book Key to Parasitic Nematodes written by Skryabin and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2023-10-09 with total page 924 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This third volume of Keys to Parasitic Nematodes is devoted to the largest suborder of nematodes - the strongylates. The strongylates include extremely pathogenic helminths which in a number of cases cause serious disease in man and in farm and commercial animals, often with a fatal outcome. Examples of these are anchylostomiasis and necatoriasis in man, delafondiasis and alfortiasis of horse, hemonchiasis and chabertiasis of sheep and dogs, bunostomiasis of cattle, hyostrongylosis of swine, etc. Due to the pathogenicity of the strongylates, it is natural that veterinarians and physicians, as well as biologists, should wish to familiarize themselves with the classification of these helminths. The present volume is "Key" which constitutes a handbook that includes all strongylates known at present to be animal parasites in all geographical zones of the world. However, this volume is not merely a mechanical list of all species comprising the strongylate group. The authors have carried out a thorough analysis of existing concepts relating to the taxonomy of this group of nematodes and now present a new system of classification of the strongylates based on all the material that was studied. In all, the new system embraced by the authors puts forward three super families, 17 families, 51 subfamilies and 245 genera.
