Book excerpt: En condition non drainées, les recherches précédentes ont mis en évidence que le comportement d'une argile dépend de facteurs divers, comme le niveau de la contrainte cyclique, la fréquence de chargement, la minéralogie de l'argile, la contrainte de consolidation, le rapport de surconsolidation et le type de sollicitation (alternée, répétée, ondulée). Étude de l'influence de ces facteurs. L'évolution de la déformation axiale sous charge répétée est représentée par une courbe de même forme que celle du fluage. On montre la capacité de la loi de Singh-Mitchell pour le fluage, à décrire la variation de la déformation. Mise en évidence de la validité, pour la fatigue, des formules proposées pour un comportement non amorti du fluage. L'étude de l'influence de la fréquence du chargement répète a permis d'un côté de mettre en évidence l'influence de la minéralogie mais aussi de faire une approche quantitative de la similitude entre fluage et fatigue en raisonnant par rapport au temps. Méthode rapide de détermination de la limite de fluage et de la limite de fatigue à l'aide d'un seul essai triaxial.
