Book excerpt: El proyecto "Contribución al desarrollo de la Multimedia de física de reactores nucleares" se enmarca dentro del programa de docencia de la Cyber Learning Platform for Nuclear Education and Training (Cyber-plataforma de enseñanza para la educación y en entrenamiento Nuclear) de la Agencia Internacional de la Energía Atómica (IAEA). El proyecto se ha realizado a petición de la IAEA para actualizar e implementar la Multimedia de física de reactores nucleares en su nueva plataforma online para así maximizar el alcance en cuanto a docencia nuclear. El proyecto también ha estado impulsador por la European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN). A su vez, se han introducido cambios y mejoras sugeridos por el Profesor Catedrático Javier Dies, director del proyecto y autor de la Multimedia. En primer lugar, se ha realizado un análisis de la funcionalidad de la Multimedia y de su código fuente. Esta parte del proyecto incluye la descripción del funcionamiento de la Multimedia, el estudio del estado del código fuente antes de su compilación y el depurado de los errores en el código fuente para poder obtener la versión compilada del programa actual de la Multimedia antes de proceder a cualquier cambio o actualización. La siguiente tarea desarrollada ha sido la de actualizar los datos de las tablas y gráficos del primer capítulo de la Multimedia a partir de los datos extraídos de las publicaciones anuales de las principales instituciones internacionales. También se han introducido cambios y mejoras sugeridas por el director del proyecto Javier Dies. Seguidamente, se han implementado unos cuestionarios de autoevaluación para que el estudiante compruebe sus conocimientos. Asimismo, se ha dado soporte para la traducción al chino de todos los contenidos de la Multimedia a un alumno de Máster, ayudando a su familiarización con la Multimedia y el programa Adobe Flash Professional. Finalmente se ha realizado un video explicativo para complementar la explicación del contenido de la Multimedia. De este modo se ha obtenido la nueva versión totalmente funcional sin errores de código y que permitirá añadir nuevas características y nueva información al haber sido depurado. Esta nueva versión de la Multimedia de física de reactores nucleares se ha llamado 5.0. La Multimedia de física de reactores nucleares ha sido distribuida a más de 88 países a través de la IAEA-CLP.

Book excerpt: El proyecto "Contribución al Desarrollo de la Multimedia de Física de Reactores Nucleares" es el resultado del trabajo ininterrumpido de muchos profesionales. Se enmarca en el programa de docencia de la Cyber Learning Platform for Nuclear Education and Training (Cyber-plataforma de enseñanza para la educación y en entrenamiento Nuclear) de la Agencia Internacional de la Energía Atómica (IAEA). El origen del proyecto se encuentra en una petición de IAEA para realizar una edición docente Multimedia de la Física de los Reactores Nucleares (MFRN). Los doctores Javier Dies y Francesc Puig desarrollaron, hace más de una década, un curso cubría las necesidades de la IAEA. En la actualidad el curso está presente en los planes de formación de la IAEA para 92 países. Las actuales tecnologías de la Información han dejado obsoletos los soportes físicos para la documentación digital. En los últimos años se ha sumado a esta realidad técnica la necesidad de simplificar los procesos de traducción de contenidos a nuevos idiomas. En la actualidad el curso debe ser constantemente actualizado en 7 idiomas diferentes por seis equipos de ingenieros diferentes distribuidos geográficamente por todo el mundo. Por este motivo, el objetivo del trabajo es el de definir e implementar una serie de plantillas en un formato cercano al empleado en las ediciones de texto que facilite la traducción y la corrección del MFRN sin apenas conocimientos especializados en las TIC. Para conseguir este objetivo se ha seguido una estricta metodología de trabajo que ha dado como resultado la versión inglesa del curso y el procedimiento para la corrección y traducción del curso. En este trabajo se han cubierto las siguientes etapas: · Se han estudiado las principales características del curso · Se han estudiado algunos de los formatos que podrían ser adecuados y se ha escogido el que cumplía mejor las especificaciones. · Se ha diseñado el formato gráfico, la estructura de las páginas y el sistema de navegación. · Por último, se ha ideado un proceso de traducción y edición. El resultado obtenido permite reducir aproximadamente un 40% el tiempo y los costes dedicados a la edición de un nuevo idioma y permite emplear para esta labor únicamente a expertos en los contenidos con conocimientos ligeramente ampliados a los de la edición de textos. Este resultado ha de facilitar que en los próximos dos años se renueven los 5 idiomas en los cuales se distribuye el curso en la actualidad más los dos idiomas, el árabe y el polaco, a los cuales se está traduciendo en la actualidad la versión anterior.
