Book Synopsis Create a World Class Soccer Defense by : Chest Dugger
Download or read book Create a World Class Soccer Defense written by Chest Dugger and published by Abiprod Pty Limited. This book was released on 2019-10-13 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you want to learn how to improving your defensive game? Or looking for ways to solidify your team's defense? This book is your answer. As was said by a great soccer manager, 'Offense wins games; defense wins titles'. This is the case with every level of the professional and amateur game in all countries across the globe. Although there is a correlation between scoring the most goals and winning leagues, it does not seem to be quite as strong as having a watertight defense. So, we might conclude that while scoring goals thrills the crowd and helps a team to win, to be a champion it is even more important that the defense is as strong as it can possibly be. We hope that we have made our case. Defense is key to a team's success. But there is another important reason for this coaching book on a team's defensive unit. We can coach attacking play; set moves, individual skills and so forth can all help a team to create and score chances. However, goals often result from a touch of magic. The thirty-yard screaming shot; the piece of dribbling brilliance, the through pass hit with precision and vision. These are hard attributes to train. Or they can result from an error by the opposition. A mishit clearance, a goal keeping mistake, a positional defect or communication lapse. Consistent training and coaching can make a bigger impact with defense than can be with offensive players. Movement that becomes second nature, knowledge, technique, experience and positional awareness - allied to teamwork and communication - these are the elements that come together to produce a defense hard to breach. They are all factors which the coach can improve with their team through drills, team and individual coaching. It is true, if not often said, that attackers thrill the crowd while defenders win matches, at whatever level we play the game, from professional to Under ten teams playing on a Sunday morning. And it is there, with the match winning defense, that a coach earns his salt.

Book Synopsis 45 Professional Soccer Possession Drills by : Marcus DiBernardo
Download or read book 45 Professional Soccer Possession Drills written by Marcus DiBernardo and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2014-02-18 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the best possession drills I have used in my 20+ years of coaching. The training sessions come from Barcelona FC, Everton FC, Arsenal FC, Wigan Athletic, Liverpool FC, Stoke City, Valencia FC, Sporting Lisbon FC, Inter Milan, Ajax FC and many more famous clubs. Coaching possession is about teaching decision-making, guiding players to become problem solvers, helping players understand the importance of positioning and placing players in training sessions that challenge them. One of the most important aspects of possession training is the number of meaningful touches a player gets. A competitive possession drill should demand player's play on the edge of their ability to be successful while receiving many touches. The tempo of the drills should be high, forcing quickness of thought and speed of play. In the modern game players must be able to play under pressure without losing the ball. Players and teams that can hold the ball under pressure know how to save seconds on the ball. Playing possession soccer is all about positioning and coordinated movement. Without proper positioning keeping the ball would be impossible. Positioning and coordinated movement allows players to create overloads all over the field. Creating a numerical advantage is critical to unbalancing the opponent, keeping the ball and scoring goals. Focus on the details when training your team. Make sure you are providing an environment for maximum learning and growth. There will always be debates about possession soccer and whether controlling possession means winning more games. I personally believe players and teams that possess the ball well have more tools and options to break their opponents down. Possession training makes players well-rounded, skillful, composed, gives them the ability to find soccer solutions on the field and increases passing accuracy. Teams with higher passing accuracy win more games. Teams with overwhelming possession (over 65%) win more games as well. "45 Professional Soccer Possession Drills" will be a valuable tool for developing your players' possession ability.
