People can be skeptical about Jesus Christ and Christianity, or they can think that they just don’t have a good reason to believe. Yet so many of us can’t shake this feeling that we should try to understand God and what we believe about Him—but where do we start? In Cursed with Common Sense, author Nicole Nelson shares her own journey from skepticism and doubt to faith in God. Through her stories, she hopes others can relate to her experiences as she walks with you through the questions she had—and still has—and how she got to the point that she found herself now: writing a book and sharing her faith with the world. You can have common sense and faith in Jesus. Nicole will take you through her process of realizing that God is real and how it changed her life. Cursed with Common Sense won’t tell you what to do or what to think, but together you can explore these questions and arrive at your own faith.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Common Condition Of Today's Secular Society As many pundits have noted, over the last 60 years we have seen a growing secularism, and in fact anti-religious fervor gain traction in the United States. The accelerated momentum of this movement has run head into the Judeo/Christian heritage established by the Country's founders. The push back from the Christian community and traditionalists, deemed by some to be the 'cultural wars', has been at best tepid. Many conservatives have conceded that the secularists have made progress. Often appearing as rigid and doctrinaire, traditionalists can't seem to counter the compelling mantra, "if it feels good and does not hurt anybody-- than why not do it " In actuality the above mantra is less shallow and self serving than it first may sound. I believe that it is the basis of most common behavior in the US today and more so around the World. Some students of the Bible will remind that this philosophy has fueled mankind's common behavior from creation? Did not the Jews begin an orgy of decadence and idol worship when Moses was not looking and was away receiving the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai? Did not the Nazis consider the Jews less than human so that when they were secretly exterminating them in the gas chambers it was OK - because the Third Reich believed that only the Arian race was in fact human? Therefore killing millions of Jews was not really "hurting anybody" because they weren't killing real people. The dangers of this relativist mentality are not readily apparent - therefore relativism is the common denominator propelling mankind into a new more dangerous age. Spiritual Walk leads to Uncommon Sense I have taken the time to establish this foundation because if you are beginning your walk in faith -the above will sound very unappealing. BUT this book can provide you, the reader with some very important tips about how to obtain an uncommon sense of peace in today's troubled world. Frankly we believe that it can only be achieved by carefully reading scripture and letting it speak to you. Though this thought today is uncommon - except to a remnant of a diminishing culture - both the author and I know it to be absolutely true. Since I have known the author for over 30 years I can speak authoritatively when I tell you that she is one who traveled extensively in her youth and experienced the real human tragedy emanating from the pagan relativist mantra. She is not a person who is "judgmental." But through her journey and walk she has seen that pagan secularism does in fact hurt people, damage families, increase the early termination of life via abortion, lead to societal breakdown and most surely stirs personal chaos and unrest. She has evolved into one of the most uncommonly spiritual women that I have ever known. Her book works for her. This book is a great beginning to those seeking answers and/or can be an old friend to those who have realized that the fruits of wisdom do not derive from the common world. Common sense grows from a spiritual journey that cannot be fully realized via intellectual debate or over thinking the human condition. That is why "Common Sense is NOT so Common."

What if I told you there was tons of stuff in the Bible that you’ve never heard about? Things like talking donkeys, self-conscious magicians, and kings who think they’re cows. The Bible is a curious book full of deeply flawed people and a God who refuses to give up on them. Don’t believe me? Look for yourself. In these 60 devotions, we examine these unique stories, the circumstances and biblical truth around them, and what they reveal about the heart of God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is unlikely to ever appear on retail book shelves. Why? Because it was not written to be politically correct, which seems to be the language of the times. In today’s world, writers attempt to phrase everything so as not to offend any particular group of people, instead, bury their thoughts on countless pages of writings with endless ramblings involving meaningless adverbs and adjectives. This book is not meant to compete with religious leaders and scholars who have devoted their lives to advancing their own religious beliefs by interpreting and translating Hebrew and Greek languages in such a way as to support a particular religious group. It is the desire of the author of this book to provide a no-frills, common sense approach to understanding the simple steps required to become a Christian and living a Christian lifestyle as outlined in God’s Holy Word. Without trials in our lives, without stumbling blocks and adversities to overcome, we can never expect to mature and grow. We all face daily battles as we travel this road of life, however, religious confusion does not have to be one of them. From the battles of child abuse, a dysfunctional home life and alcoholism, to the battles of Viet Nam and the never ending struggle to find meaning in life and a relationship with God, Cline has fought them all and has come to understand that only through common sense and the strength of God can we prevail if we only follow His simple guidelines.

Book excerpt: This text helps us explore both the inner and the outer obstacles that prevent us from bringing more awareness to all our daily activities. He emphasizes that while techniques can be useful in pointing the way, in themselves they are not meditation. Rather, meditation - or mindfulness - is ultimately a state of being in which we are capable of both action and stillness, work and play, and able to be fully present to each moment of life as it comes. Osho's insights into the nature of the modern mind, with its tendency to judge and compare, provides a helpful entry point for longtime meditators as well as beginners. Mindfulness in the Modern World covers a wide range of topics, including five experiential techniques that will help you bring awareness to your everyday life.

Book excerpt: In spiritual teacher Osho's Aspects of Meditation Book 2: Meditation, a Jumping Off Point, you'll discover a deeper understanding of meditation through an investigation into the subtle workings of the mind—concentration as a way to discover the self. The West has taken to meditation with great enthusiasm. We contemplate. We concentrate. We embrace mindfulness techniques and a multitude of mantras. We have undertaken to “do” meditation. The Aspects of Meditation series is comprised of brief, precious texts in which Osho shows us the core of meditation is not about sitting silently or chanting a mantra. It is, instead, a question of understanding the subtle workings of the mind. In Book 2, Osho explores the purpose of meditation: to discover the self.

Book excerpt: "The mind, says Osho, has the potential to be enormously creative in dealing with the challenges of everyday life, and the problems of the world in which we live. The difficulty, however, is that instead of using the mind as a helpful servant we have largely allowed it to become the master of our lives.... Meditation is the switch that can silence the mind. A sharper, more relaxed and creative mind-one that can function at the peak of its unique intelligence- is the potential. Osho introduces meditation for contemporary life"-- Back cover.
