Book Synopsis Control of Non-conventional Synchronous Motors by : Jean-Paul Louis
Download or read book Control of Non-conventional Synchronous Motors written by Jean-Paul Louis and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-02-04 with total page 303 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Classical synchronous motors are the most effective device to drive industrial production systems and robots with precision and rapidity. However, numerous applications require efficient controls in non-conventional situations. Firstly, this is the case with synchronous motors supplied by thyristor line-commutated inverters, or with synchronous motors with faults on one or several phases. Secondly, many drive systems use non-conventional motors such as polyphase (more than three phases) synchronous motors, synchronous motors with double excitation, permanent magnet linear synchronous motors, synchronous and switched reluctance motors, stepping motors and piezoelectric motors. This book presents efficient controls to improve the use of these non-conventional motors. Contents 1. Self-controlled Synchronous Motor: Principles of Function and Simplified Control Model, Francis Labrique and François Baudart. 2. Self-controlled Synchronous Motor: Dynamic Model Including the Behavior of Damper Windings and Commutation Overlap, Ernest Matagne. 3. Book Synopsis Vector Control of Induction Machines by : Benoît Robyns
Download or read book Vector Control of Induction Machines written by Benoît Robyns and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-02-04 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After a brief introduction to the main law of physics and fundamental concepts inherent in electromechanical conversion, Vector Control of Induction Machines introduces the standard mathematical models for induction machines – whichever rotor technology is used – as well as several squirrel-cage induction machine vector-control strategies. The use of causal ordering graphs allows systematization of the design stage, as well as standardization of the structure of control devices. Vector Control of Induction Machines suggests a unique approach aimed at reducing parameter sensitivity for vector controls based on a theoretical analysis of this sensitivity. This analysis naturally leads to the introduction of control strategies that are based on the combination of different controls with different robustness properties, through the use of fuzzy logic supervisors. Numerous applications and experiments confirm the validity of this simple solution, which is both reproducible and applicable to other complex systems. Vector Control of Induction Machines is written for researchers and postgraduate students in electrical engineering and motor drive design.
Book Synopsis Electrical Actuators by : Bernard de Fornel
Download or read book Electrical Actuators written by Bernard de Fornel and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-03-04 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The different chapters of this book cover a large range of information regarding electrical actuators, including: synchronous and asynchronous machine modeling in order to measure and identify offline and online parameters using modern optimization methods; identification in real time of parameters with Luenberger filter and the extended Kalman filter; estimation of non-measurable variables, first by linear estimates and observers, then by lower observers. Robustness is a very problematic issue, as well, which is fully explored in a chapter dedicated to the subject. Finally, the estimate of non-measurable mechanical variables is particularly dealt with: estimate of load moment, then observation of the positioning of a command without mechanical sensor. The conditions to measure variables and real implementation of numerical algorithms are also examined with particular attention.

Book Synopsis Systemic Design Methodologies for Electrical Energy Systems by : Xavier Roboam
Download or read book Systemic Design Methodologies for Electrical Energy Systems written by Xavier Roboam and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-12-17 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book proposes systemic design methodologies applied to electrical energy systems, in particular analysis and system management, modeling and sizing tools. It includes 8 chapters: after an introduction to the systemic approach (history, basics & fundamental issues, index terms) for designing energy systems, this book presents two different graphical formalisms especially dedicated to multidisciplinary devices modeling, synthesis and analysis: Bond Graph and COG/EMR. Other systemic analysis approaches for quality and stability of systems, as well as for safety and robustness analysis tools are also proposed. One chapter is dedicated to energy management and another is focused on Monte Carlo algorithms for electrical systems and networks sizing. The aim of this book is to summarize design methodologies based in particular on a systemic viewpoint, by considering the system as a whole. These methods and tools are proposed by the most important French research laboratories, which have many scientific partnerships with other European and international research institutions. Scientists and engineers in the field of electrical engineering, especially teachers/researchers because of the focus on methodological issues, will find this book extremely useful, as will PhD and Masters students in this field.
Book Synopsis Conception systémique pour la conversion d’énergie électrique 1 : gestion, analyse et synthèse by : ROBOAM Xavier
Download or read book Conception systémique pour la conversion d’énergie électrique 1 : gestion, analyse et synthèse written by ROBOAM Xavier and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-11-06 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Control of Synchronous Motors by : Jean-Paul Louis
Download or read book Control of Synchronous Motors written by Jean-Paul Louis and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-02-07 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Synchronous motors are indubitably the most effective device to drive industrial production systems and robots with precision and rapidity. Their control law is thus critical for combining at the same time high productivity to reduced energy consummation. As far as possible, the control algorithms must exploit the properties of these actuators. Therefore, this work draws on well adapted models resulting from the Park’s transformation, for both the most traditional machines with sinusoidal field distribution and for machines with non-sinusoidal field distribution which are more and more used in industry. Both, conventional control strategies like vector control (either in the synchronous reference frame or in the rotor frame) and advanced control theories like direct control and predictive control are thoroughly presented. In this context, a significant place is reserved to sensorless control which is an important and critical issue in tomorrow’s motors.
