Es wird die Frage beantwortet, ob Zetkin die Emanzipation der Frau und die Gleichheit zwischen den Geschlechtern vorangetrieben hat und wenn ja, wie sie dies entsprechend umsetzten konnte. Dazu wird mit einem allgemeinen Überblick zur aufkommenden Frauenbewegung in den 1920er Jahren begonnen und der historische Hintergrund erläutert. Erster Punkt der Agenda beschreibt die historische Ausgangslage der Frauen zu Beginn der Industrialisierung in Deutschland beziehungsweise nach der Revolution 1848 und soll die geschichtlichen Rahmenbedingungen bezüglich des Beginns der Frauenbewegung klären. Folglich stehen die proletarische Frauenbewegung und das Leben und Wirken Clara Zetkins im Zentrum der Arbeit. Die gesellschaftliche Stellung und die Ausgangslage der Frau wird als essential für den späteren Zusammenschluss der verschiedenen Bewegungen eingeordnet. Daher wird das Augenmerk zuerst auf die Ausgangslage der Bewegung und dann konkret auf die proletarische Frauenbewegung fallen, bevor dann exemplarisch an Clara Zetkin der Einsatz für die Bewegung erläutern wird. Abschließend wird die Frage beantwortet, ob die Frauenbewegung die angestrebten Zielstellungen erreichen konnte und welche Folgen die Bewegung im Allgemein für die Entwicklung der Frauenrechte hatte und auf das Erbe von Zetkin geschaut. Clara Zetkin gilt als Symbol der vollständigen Gleichheit innerhalb der Gesellschaft, indem sie die Frauenbewegung öffentlich teilte und immer mehr Menschen von ihren Forderungen überzeugen konnte. Mit der Frauenbewegung wollte sie Ziele wie Freiheit, Gleichheit und Selbstständigkeit auf Generationen von Männern und vor allem Frauen übertragen. Clara Zetkin wird zugeschrieben, dass sie eine der voran bringendsten Frauen in Bezug auf Frauenrechte war uns ist. Sie setzte sich gegen die Unterdrückung der Arbeiterinnen ein und als Sozialistin und Mitglied der KPD kämpfte sie gegen die allgemeine Ungleichheit im Land.
