Book Synopsis A Theoretical Study of the Angular Motions of Spinning Bodies in Space by : Jerrold H. Suddath
Download or read book A Theoretical Study of the Angular Motions of Spinning Bodies in Space written by Jerrold H. Suddath and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Summary: A theoretical study was made of the angular motions of spinning bodies in space. The analysis was based on Euler's dynamic equations which were linearized and solved analytically. The results of the study are directly applicable only to spin-stabilized vehicles with constant moments of inertia and angular displacements not exceeding about 15°. Simple analytical expressions were obtained which relate angular motions to spin-rate and inertia distributions for a given disturbance. Consideration was given to the effects produced by having artificial damping in the system. The study included numerical examples and comparisons of analytical solutions with machine solutions of exact dynamic equations. The analysis indicated that angular motions are sensitive to inertia distributions. In considering a rectangular-pulse pitching moment, it was found that the residual motion was very sensitive to the time at which the moment was removed. Artificial damping due to a perfect proportional control system seemed to be more advantageous to pencil-like configurations than to disk-like configurations.
Book Synopsis Dyeing to Spin & Knit by : Felicia Lo
Download or read book Dyeing to Spin & Knit written by Felicia Lo and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2017-01-12 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inspire and unleash a passion for hand-crafted color! "Unapologetic" is how Felicia Lo always describes her obsession with color and craft. In Dyeing to Spin and Knit, Felicia, founder and creative director of SweetGeorgia Yarns and highly sought after teacher and lecturer, provides clear and accessible guidance for creating gorgeous hand-dyed yarns and spinning fibers and an understanding of how dyeing affects knitted yarn and handspun yarn. Fiber artists will learn the fundamentals of how color works, how to combine and coordinate colors, and how to control the results when dyeing wool and silk yarns and fibers. Spinners will learn how to subdue intense and bright colorways or prevent muddiness in handspun. Knitters will gain the knowledge to avoid or maximize the effects of pooling. And finally, this book will include 10 patterns that use hand-dyed and handspun yarns and fibers to their most exciting advantage in knitting projects. Complete with detailed photographs from Felicia's own dyeing studio, Dyeing to Spin and Knit offers a master class in preparing hand-dyed yarns and fibers. Ignite your love of color--unapologetically!

Download or read book Spin written by Bill Gruber and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2023-11-21 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everywhere, things spin--wheels turn, motors hum, tornadoes roar. This book explains the history and basic physics of spinning objects, from yo-yos, drills, propellers, and washing machines, to ballet dancers, dust devils, and bacteria. The book gives instructive, entertaining accounts of everyday sights: Does a curve ball really curve? Why do figure skaters tuck in their arms? Can you make a disposable pen fly? How does a falling cat always land on its feet? Answers to these questions (and many others) tell the amazing story of things that spin.
Book Synopsis Kinematical Theory of Spinning Particles by : M. Rivas
Download or read book Kinematical Theory of Spinning Particles written by M. Rivas and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-04-11 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Classical spin is described in terms of velocities and acceleration so that knowledge of advanced mathematics is not required. Written in the three-dimensional notation of vector calculus, it can be followed by undergraduate physics students, although some notions of Lagrangian dynamics and group theory are required. It is intended as a general course at a postgraduate level for all-purpose physicists. This book presents a unified approach to classical and quantum mechanics of spinning particles, with symmetry principles as the starting point. A classical concept of an elementary particle is presented. The variational statements to deal with spinning particles are revisited. It is shown that, by explicitly constructing different models, symmetry principles are sufficient for the description of either classical or quantum-mechanical elementary particles. Several spin effects are analyzed.

This faux biography of Jesus reconstructs the historic settings in which Jesus lived among mankind as one of us. The "missing years" are an interpolation of the birth story and his mission. The many characters are presented with familiar motives and concerns. This set of four Gospel novels presents a theologically correct depiction of the Trinity at work as God prepares His son to deal with his own flesh in this material world. As you preview the carefully worded sexual passages, your eyes will open to the modern dilemma that young people face today. You will recognize the Holy Spirit's voice, as God molds and forges Jesus in the same way that Jesus can mold and forge you. Both the humanity of Jesus and his divinity are portrayed in this romantic story of the adventure that Jesus began - an adventure that continues to this day.
