Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1) The Hebrew word for pleasant is “musical”. The Hebrew word for dwell is “under one tent”. The Hebrew word for unity is agreement. If we dwell under one tent or one banner of the Lord Jesus Christ in agreement (unity), how pleasant (musical or joyous) this would be. Psalm 133 goes on to say that it is like the precious ointment that ran down Aarons (the Priests) beard to the skirts of his garments. The precious ointment is the anointing that comes in unity and agreement. It is in this same Psalm that it says that the Lord will command “the blessing” not a blessing. In agreement and unity is the only place we will get “the” blessing and “the” anointing. Agree with us in this, In Jesus Name. God Bless

Book excerpt: Our first thought was to call this book, the Unified Church, but I got to looking at definitions of both united and unified and they are completely different. United means to be joined together and to made into one where unified means to make into one and have capabilities of becoming one. So, unified is the process of becoming united as one. Why the process of becoming one? The simple fact is that the Church in its current state is not united up to this point. Some may believe that we are and I am sure that is most people's desire, but we are not one. The prayer of Jesus for his people and his Church was that we would all be one as the He and the Father were one. (John 17:11) One even defined in Webster's dictionary means no division and no separation. While in prayer and reflecting about my son's ministry, I began to meditate on how we as a ministry could help unify churches, pastors, and people together as one. I wanted this for the Church, my son's ministry and I wanted revival and spiritual fire ignited in the city I lived in. The Lord started speaking to me about His characteristics and His list of things that the Unified Church would all value, believe in, and be defined with. This is the basis of this book, God's list of things that the Unified Church would be about. I did not ask for theologies, denominational doctrines, or beliefs of those of other faiths, but His list and His thoughts.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This initially did not start out as my journey or even as a book. It began as smaller blogs on my Facebook page: TRUTH FOR TODAY. I headed this blog up as “Writing of the Week”. Each week I would write about one of the books I have written. These not only promoted these books but also there was a lot of insight written in them. There was a lot of history of the past several years when I started becoming an Christian Author. I began this journey in 1997, maybe even some preparation and rejection several years earlier. I decided to compile all of these blogs into one file. I thought that this might be a good thing to place on my author page as an introduction to myself and my writings. I started reviewing these and these not only told about each book and subject matter, but also about my history that I was going through. It told of my success and also told of my failures. It revealed my frustrations, but also revealed my faith. It revealed my faith, my walk with the Lord over several years and also how I had grown in that walk. Honestly, I stand back and look at all these and am amazed at what the Lord had built. Yes, I said what the Lord has built through me. These also tell about me. Tells about me as a writer, but also tells about me as a person. You get to know the content of these writings, but you get to know the writer of all these books. Maybe it would still have been a good post on an author page, but the more I looked at this and read this, it has so much information and teaching, it also is a great book and biography on myself. This will teach you how to get into writing if you are interested. It will teach you about electronic book technology. First you have to have the desire to write, but this technology is really simple once you learn this and dive into it. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian Author,, a children's book author, a non-fiction or fiction author. The process is the same. It is virtually no cost to you but can reap many benefits. I thought making this free was a good idea, but at low cost, there is so many values and benefits to buying. I know you will find this interesting and insightful. You will learn much in this one writing that you would learn in years of experience. It will make you think and meditate about many subjects. It will test and try your faith. But it will motivate you to begin. Everything begins with just one step; one small step of faith. At the very least it will introduce you to the different books I have written and which ones may be of more interest to your particular tastes or what you may be going through and thinking about now. Be Blessed in all you do. Do everything as unto the Lord and you will prosper in all you do. PATRICK J VAUGHAN

Book excerpt: The evidence is irrefutable: global warming is real. While the debate continues about just how much damage spiking temperatures will wreak, we know the threat to our homes, health, and even way of life is dire. So why isn’t America doing anything? Where is the national campaign to stop this catastrophe? It may lie between the covers of this book. Ignition brings together some of the world’s finest thinkers and advocates to jump start the ultimate green revolution. Including celebrated writers like Bill McKibben and renowned scholars like Gus Speth, as well as young activists, the authors draw on direct experience in grassroots organization, education, law, and social leadership. Their approaches are various, from building coalitions to win political battles to rallying shareholders to change corporate behavior. But they share a belief that private fears about deadly heat waves and disastrous hurricanes can translate into powerful public action. For anyone who feels compelled to do more than change their light bulbs or occasionally carpool, Ignition is an essential guide. Combining incisive essays with success stories and web resources, the book helps readers answer the most important question we all face: “What can I do?”

Anthony (1820–1906) was an American social reformer and women's rights activist. Born into a Quaker family she became the New York state agent for the American Anti-Slavery Society. Ida H. Harper (1851–1931) was a prominent figure in the United States women's suffrage movement. She was an American author, journalist and biographer of Susan B. Anthony.

Book excerpt: Before answering Gods call on Michael's life, he was hopelessly addicted to life destroying drugs for nearly a decade. After entering into a Christian Recovery Center in 2004, Michael encountered the powerful love of Jesus. All of his chains of addiction were finally broken.Following his completion of the program, God called Michael to school, where he met his wife, Amber Thornton. In May of 2012, both Amber and Michael graduated from Regent University. He holds a Masters degree in Public Administration/Non-profit Organizations. During this time, God began to stir in Michael's heart the flames of revival.God quickly opened some amazing doors, and Michael was able to share his story amongst hundreds of different churches and organizations. His testimony was even featured on the 700 Club. Continuing to follow the call for a national and global spiritual awakening, the Lord led Michael to re-dig the ancient wells of revival in North Carolina. Fruit from this assignment has lead to his first book-Fire in the Carolinas: The Lasting Legacy of G.B. Cashwell and A.B. Crumpler. This work has also led to a great hunger and passion to see the Southern United States lead the nation in a global healing revival between the races and churches. Michael and his wife Amber live in Wilmington, North Carolina, with their five children: Jordan, Abby, Briella, Bethany, and Jonah. Michael serves as the director of Ignite Ministries and Outreach Pastor of Global River Church."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A progressive resurgence is happening across the United States. This book shows how long-lasting coalitions have built progressive power from the regional level on up. Anchored by the "think and act" affiliate organizations of the Partnership for Working Families (PWF) these regional power building projects are putting in place the vision, policy agenda, political savvy, and grassroots mobilization needed for progressive governance. Through six sections, the book explores how Partnership for Working Families projects are a core part of the defeat of the right-wing in states such as California; the challenge to corporate neoliberalism in traditionally "liberal" areas; and contests for power in such formally solid red states as Arizona, Georgia, and Colorado. This book considers how these PWF groups work on economic, racial and environmental justice challenges, equitable development, and other critical issues. It addresses how, at their core, they bring together labor, community, environmental, and faith-based organizations and the coalitions and campaigns that they developed have won and continue to win substantial victories for their communities. Igniting Justice and Progressive Power will be of interest to activists and concerned citizens looking to understand how lasting political change actually happens as well as all scholars and students of social work, urban geography, political sociology, community development, social movements and political science more broadly.
