Download or read book Christians Disguised As Prisoners written by Jr. Payne and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012-06 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prisons are an institutional altar God has placed in communities all around us. In this book, the author is giving an invitation for the outside churches to minister in such a way that Jesus can say: I was in prison and you came to me. Prisons are mission fields in which God has brought the world to our back yards. Any given prison in America houses inmates from all nations around the world. This book is also a call to the Church to answer Jesus Christ's Great Commission: to go into all the world and make disciples. After thirty years as a prison chaplain and assistant program director, the author has a keen insight into this rewarding ministry. He draws that knowledge from personal experiences, writing policies, and training staff and volunteers. He has ministered with and to the inmates on every level of the system, including Death Row. This book is essential for serious readers who are seeking to improve relationships with wardens, correctional officers, chaplains and inmates, their family, and the victims. Leonard M. Payne, Jr. was just a country preacher with a PhD (Praying Hard Daily) when he applied for the chaplain position at the West Virginia State Penitentiary, Moundsville, WV. He was the only staff member allowed to go with Governor Arch Moore to the negotiations during the 1986 riots at the West Virginia State Penitentiary. He has authored two books: Un-redeemer Son and Daughters and My People Yesterday, Today and Forever, a history of the Glorious Churches of God in Christ, in which he presently serves as National Director of Chaplaincy. He holds a Doctoral degree from the United Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts from the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio. Leonard lives in St. Clairsville, Ohio with his wife, Charlotte

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whether you are a career serviceman or woman, or serving for a term, you and your family face many hardships that meet you head-on. Your mental, spiritual, and physical state will be challenged, and you will incur many difficulties that you must overcome. Some of the challenges also come from the communities and countries you serve in. While serving, your faith in God may be questioned and your attitude toward your faith could be compromised by a myriad of difficult situations. This is when you must draw strength from God to let his light shine and emanate from you. Others' lives may depend on you and by letting your faith shine, you have an opportunity to bring others into the family of God. Your service is not a time to camouflage your faith; in fact, it is a great opportunity to use this worldwide platform to show that your Christian faith does not need to be camouflaged and concealed. No, it is a time to let God have control and lead you in your successful career and show others, through your Christ-centered life, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Richard takes you on a journey through the Armor of God in Ephesians 6 and utilizes the scriptures to help you understand the armor and weapons you must wear and take up to defend your faith and Jesus Christ. Richard shares much of what he experienced throughout his military career. He also shares his personal life and how he drew strength from the scriptures, prayer, and fellow Christians throughout his career. His prayer is that you utilize this book to be encouraged and to be proud of your faith. May you encourage others to come to know Christ through your walk.

Download or read book Finding Europe written by Anthony Molho and published by Berghahn Books. This book was released on 2007-04-01 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last decade or so, many books have been devoted to the history of Europe. Two conceptual axes predominate in a large number of these accounts: a discourse focusing on Europe’s values, and another discourse, fashioned largely in opposition to the first, which emphasizes the process of European “construction.” The first conceives of Europe’s past teleologically, as a process by which certain values (Christian ethics, individualism, capitalism, tolerance, republicanism, due process, etc.) were affirmed and came to define European culture. The second approach rejects the discourse on values emphasizes the post-Enlightenment emergence of the concept of Europe, and the political and ideological implications in its continuous redefinitions (and re elaborations) during the past two or more centuries. This volume offers new approaches that integrate the long temporal dimension of the values-based approach, albeit devoid of its teleological element, with the “constructivist” interpretation.

They're praying for us and going out of their way and taking up their time to help out however they can. For a lot of us, their suffering hurts us more than what we are going through. At some point, we start questioning God and wondering why God has forsaken us. God has a time and a purpose for our tribulations. This book was written to help you understand God loves you. You need to take your trials and pain to him. His grace will comfort you. The hope is that this book will encourage you to look for the blessings you can receive through trials.
