Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times Bestseller. With just the right mixture of humor and insight, compassion and incredulity, A Year of Biblical Womanhood is an exercise in scriptural exploration and spiritual contemplation. What does God truly expect of women, and is there really a prescription for biblical womanhood? Come along with Evans as she looks for answers in the rich heritage of biblical heroines, models of grace, and all-around women of valor. What is "biblical womanhood" . . . really? Strong-willed and independent, Rachel Held Evans couldn't sew a button on a blouse before she embarked on a radical life experiment--a year of biblical womanhood. Intrigued by the traditionalist resurgence that led many of her friends to abandon their careers to assume traditional gender roles in the home, Evans decides to try it for herself, vowing to take all of the Bible's instructions for women as literally as possible for a year. Pursuing a different virtue each month, Evans learns the hard way that her quest for biblical womanhood requires more than a "gentle and quiet spirit" (1 Peter 3:4). It means growing out her hair, making her own clothes, covering her head, obeying her husband, rising before dawn, abstaining from gossip, remaining silent in church, and even camping out in the front yard during her period. See what happens when a thoroughly modern woman starts referring to her husband as "master" and "praises him at the city gate" with a homemade sign. Learn the insights she receives from an ongoing correspondence with an Orthodox Jewish woman, and find out what she discovers from her exchanges with a polygamist wife. Join her as she wrestles with difficult passages of scripture that portray misogyny and violence against women.

Book excerpt: Through the magnificent literary, scholarly, and psychological analysis of the text that is her trademark, Avivah Gottlieb Zornberg tackles the enduring puzzlement of the book of Numbers. What should have been for the Israelites a brief journey from Mount Sinai to the Holy Land becomes a forty-year death march. Both before and after the devastating report of the Spies, the narrative centers on the people's desire to return to slavery in Egypt. At its heart are speeches of complaint and lament. But in the narrative of the book of Numbers that is found in mystical and Hasidic sources, the generation of the wilderness emerges as one of extraordinary spiritual experience, fed on miracles and nurtured directly by God: a generation of ecstatic faith, human partners in an unprecedented conversation with the Deity. Drawing on kabbalistic sources, the Hasidic commentators depict a people who transcend prudent considerations in order to follow God into the wilderness, where their spiritual yearning comes to full expression. Is there a way to integrate this narrative of dark murmurings, of obsessive fantasies of a return to Egypt, with the celebration of a love-intoxicated wilderness discourse? What effect does the cumulative trauma of slavery, the miracles of Exodus, and the revelation at Sinai have on a nation that is beginning to speak? In Bewilderments, one of our most admired biblical commentators suggests fascinating answers to these questions.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 49 Ways to Get Rid of The Other Woman Without Getting Caught is a book that deals with the major issue of infidelity in marriage. The book explores the subject through the lens of a wife, seeking to oust the other woman, an intruder, who is threatening her territory. In the pages, Amaka Chika-Mbonu presents a 49-day programme of warfare, both spiritual and temporal, for all couples, to wrestle with the evil of infidelity and adultery. She uses riveting stories-loosely based on true facts garnered over fifteen years as a marital counsellor, using the enshrined word of God-to teach practical lessons. It contains a chronicle of laws, petitions, and supplications. The tone is militant, violent and aggressive, and as in regular warfare, there will be casualties. It is essentially a manual for spiritual warfare.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At some point in my life, I prayed to God, believing that one day, I would be swept off my feet by my prince charming. I remember praying at a young age to be married to a man that loves God and has the fear of God in him. I knew what I wanted, or at best, I thought I knew what I wanted. Most times, we wish and pray for things without understanding that our wishes aren't as simple as they seem and may probably have their implications. To pray for a prince charming, you need to be a princess beauty. The prince charming also has expectations of his bride and you need to fit that mould. Without knowing it, I carried a lot of baggage into my marriage. This load of baggage was capable of ruining my marriage. Wait a minute, did I say capable of ruining my marriage? Scratch that. This load of baggage almost ruined my marriage. In Proverbs 14: 1, the Bible says, "a wise woman builds her home but a foolish woman tears it down with her hands." Did you notice what the Bible says in that Scripture? The foolish woman does not need any kind of help pulling down her home. She can do it all by herself. Her own actions or inaction are enough to completely ruin her home. At some point in my life, I was this foolish woman. I know this probably sounds shocking but 'foolish' was what I was at that time. Sadly, there abound many foolish women who have destroyed their marriages and homes. Some others are in the process of destroying their marriages. Some marriages are being endured rather than enjoyed. Some married people are struggling to put the pieces of their homes together while some feel that it can't be put back together again. It is unfortunate that some women are completely at a loss of what to do to save their ailing marriages. Some others who know what to do to save their homes allow pride stop them from doing it. My journey in the early years of marriage was quite painful and enduring. Nothing I knew seemed to make sense anymore. All the seemingly harmless habits I got away with in the course of my life as a single became a challenge in marriage. When you marry a near-perfect man like I did, your flaws become so glaring. The sad truth is that before I got married, I never considered these habits as flaws. Have you ever found yourself saying things like: "This is how I have always been and people accepted and liked me"? Have you also found yourself saying to your spouse, "Hey, you met me like this; why is this now a big deal"? Oh, I said this a thousand and one times. I just couldn't understand how anyone will want me to change. Who I was had taken me so many years to become, so why was I supposed to change just because I got married. Hmmm, that was a difficult one for me to crack. In this book, I will be sharing my journey so far, what I had to learn in the process and who I have become through my experiences.

Book excerpt: A Majestic Presence in the Church. An invitation for the majestic presence or manifestation of a fallen angel, "Shekinah" has entered the church. Unbeknownst to many innocent Believers in the Body of Christ, the presence of this powerful seductive demonic spirit presents a lie that looks so tempting to many Christian's. Christian churches today seek to experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in tangible ways.Over time, the Shekinah finally became inseparable from what is known as the Holy Spirit or God's Glory due to the paganized rabbis supplanting the true Holy Spirit with the Shekinah. Satan does his best to imitate God and all holy things of God so, through the goddess Shekinah, he has managed to deceive God's people regarding the Holy Spirit. Thus, came about the subtle introduction of a pagan goddess, a fallen angel, Shekinah, into the mono-theistic Judeo/Christian religion. Shekinah is found in many ancient pagan religions. In Hinduism, she is known as the goddess, Shakti, which means "power". Shekinah of Jewish tradition serves as the visible and experiential manifestation of God. Shekinah is recorded six times in the Quran. "Shekinah is a sweet breeze, a wind, whose face is like the face of a human".Prophet Leslie has been an ordained in the office of a Prophet since the year 2000. Prophet Leslie Johnson is Co-founder of the Power of Jesus Crusades. She is Co-founder of Seven-fold Miracle Crusades. She is founder of the Perfect Touch Women's Conferences, as well as co-pastor of the Spirit of Prophecy Church. Prophet Leslie Johnson has conducted over 50 school of the Prophets. She ministers in and demonstrates the power of Jesus and healing, as well as operates in the powerful anointing as a recognized Prophet. Leslie's greatest desire is to help the Saints of God be trained and equipped for ministry. She is the author of 7 other books: The Perfect Touch, Crown of Glory, Help Me I'm All Tied Up, More Than a Ruby, What it Takes to be a Prophet, Sevenfold Miracle Crusade/School of the Prophets Manual, and Snake in the House.

Race is one of the hardest topics to discuss in America. Many white Christians avoid talking about it altogether. But a commitment to peacemaking requires white people to step out of their comfort and privilege and into the work of anti-racism. Dear White Peacemakers is an invitation to white Christians to come to the table and join this hard work and holy calling. Rooted in the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus, this book is a challenging call to transform white shame, fragility, saviorism, and privilege, in order to work together to build the Beloved Community as anti-racism peacemakers. Written in the wake of George Floyd’s death, Dear White Peacemakers draws on the Sermon on the Mount, Spirituals, and personal stories from author Osheta Moore’s work as a pastor in St. Paul, Minnesota. Enter into this story of shalom and join in the urgent work of anti-racism peacemaking.

Book excerpt: I am not sure about you, but I am sure that the gift of sexuality given to a husband and wife by God is not meant to become stale or settle into a rut. It is too profound of a blessing to be left unattended or to be discarded as if it does not matter. The honeymoon is not meant to be an end of passion, but a springboard of romance for the lifetime of a marriage. I decided to write this challenging book to encourage Christians to honor the marriage bed and also to provide a nudity free resource to further the intimacy of husbands and wives in search of different sexual positions to try without having to expose themselves to the nudity of secular resources. This is not a man's book and it is not a woman's book. It takes two to tango and a husband and wife will have to come to agreement to benefit from this book. Creativity must be embraced, submission to each other, and love must be kindled once again. The book begins with devotionals on love from a Biblical perspective that can help a couple be closer to God and also to one another. The type of love discussed with questions after each day sets the mood for intimacy that will last. This is the same book as Becoming One Flesh Volume 1 by the same author as he desired to make a black and white version that was cheaper.
