Book excerpt: This is a story about a shopping cart named Charlene. One day I noticed a number of shopping carts abandoned in neighborhoods and on the side of the road. As I looked at the abandoned shopping carts, I felt sorry for them and that is when I got the idea for "Charlene the Shopping Cart." Hopefully, I can influence children not to take the carts from the parking lot and to remember this story as they grow into adults. Charlene had quite an adventure getting back home.
Book Synopsis Charlene’S Dream by : Emerson Collier
Download or read book Charlene’S Dream written by Emerson Collier and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-06-07 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Writing this book was a labor of love. Actually, thats not quite true. Writing for me has no labor. I love doing it. I hope that I have made Charlene, Parker, and the rest of my story characters as real for you as they are to me. I feel that I know them all intimately and I treasure that. If reading this story gives you a fraction of the pleasure that it gives me, then it is a success. Charlene could never have imagined in a million years all the challenges, tragedies, and triumphs that she would face in her lifetime. None of us can. No one knows whats around the next corner or over the next horizon in life. All we can try to do is face lifes challenges with the same courage, hope, and faith that Charlene did. Hopefully, like it did for Charlene, it will all turn out for the best.
Book Synopsis The Disruption Mindset by : Charlene Li
Download or read book The Disruption Mindset written by Charlene Li and published by Ideapress Publishing. This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many companies make disruption their goal. They believe that if they develop the right innovation, they will disrupt their markets forever and drive the kind of growth worthy of a magazine cover story. But as bestselling author Charlene Li explains, that's not how disruption works. Disruption doesn't create growth; instead, growth creates disruption. Growth is always hard, and disruptive growth is exponentially harder. It requires companies to make tough decisions in the face of daunting uncertainties: Should we bet our company's future on next-generation customers or today's reliable ones? Should we abandon our current business model for an entirely new one? Making bold changes demands bold leadership and, often, massive cultural transformation. Over the years, Li has seen some organizations beat the odds and succeed at becoming disruptive: Adobe, ING Bank, Nokia, Southern New Hampshire University, and T-Mobile, among them. Their stories make it clear that organizations don't have to be tech start-ups or have the latest innovations to transform. What they need to do is develop a disruptive mindset that permeates every aspect of the organization. Li lays out how to do so by focusing on three elements: a strategy designed to meet the needs of future customers; leadership that creates a movement to drive and sustain transformation; and a culture that thrives on disruptive change. Drawing on interviews with some of the most audacious people driving disruptive transformation today, Li will inspire leaders at all levels to answer the call to lead disruptive transformation in their organizations, communities, and society.

Book Synopsis Valleys and Victories by : Lorraine Williams-Lewis
Download or read book Valleys and Victories written by Lorraine Williams-Lewis and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-07-26 with total page 697 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The reason why I wrote this book is to assist women of all culture and races with some form of knowledge of how to cope in the valleys of life. I hope women will learn from my mistakes and do it better. I am not a saint or self-righteous. My hope is that they will get to know Christ in an intimate way, because if women have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, their lives will become better. They will have a better survival rate than someone who is on their own and has no one. The bad things that people do to you, God turns it around in your favor. God has a purpose for all our lives. He is always working behind the scenes. When people come against you, God allowed it because it is all in his plan to work the kinks out of you and to take the bad parts of you to make you better. Life sometimes is not fair, but it is serving his plan to create you to be better, stronger, wiser, self-assured, and direct you into his purpose for your life. God intended it for good when he use the Judas of your life. It was hurtful to me when people ostracized me, lied on me, betrayed me, etc. It made me stronger, wiser, nonjudgmental, humbled me and gave me empathy for others. Everything serves a purpose in your life. Stay strong, keep the faith, trust God, stay prayerful, decree and declare great things for your life. Believe and see those great things, for your life is happening even if it is not physically in existence (Hebrews 11:1). Never give up, for if you keep on moving and doing the right things, you will someday succeed and be victorious over your obstacles in your life. God is giving you strength by allowing adversities to come into your life. Your adversities come, not to destroy you, but to push you further into God's great plan for your life. This is my life lesson learned, and Christ was guiding me the whole time. "Yea I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil: For thou are with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me" (Psalm 23:4).
