Book Synopsis Atomization and Sprays by : Arthur H. Lefebvre
Download or read book Atomization and Sprays written by Arthur H. Lefebvre and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-03-27 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition of this long-time bestseller provides a framework for designing and understanding sprays for a wide array of engineering applications. The text contains correlations and design tools that can be easily understood and used in relating the design of atomizers to the resulting spray behavior. Written to be accessible to readers with a modest technical background, the emphasis is on application rather than in-depth theory. Numerous examples are provided to serve as starting points for using the information in the book. Overall, this is a thoroughly updated edition that still retains the practical focus and readability of the original work by Arthur Lefebvre.

Book Synopsis Effect of Wear on Spray Characteristics of Fan Pattern Nozzles Made from Different Materials by : KD. Ackerman
Download or read book Effect of Wear on Spray Characteristics of Fan Pattern Nozzles Made from Different Materials written by KD. Ackerman and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spray nozzles are important in metering the liquid, atomizing, and controlling the distribution of spray over the spray swath. The effects of nozzle wear on flow rates, spray patterns, and droplet size spectrums delivered by fan pattern nozzles made from different materials were investigated. The relative wear rates of nozzle materials varied greatly with different times of use. At the end of test periods, hardened stainless steel was the most resistant to wear, followed in order of decreasing resistance to wear by stainless steel, plastic, nylon and brass. Nozzles with lower capacities wore at faster rates than nozzles with higher capacities. An automated computerized weighing system was developed to rapidly evaluate the effect of nozzle orifice wear on the spray deposit distribution. The results indicate that there was little difference between the spray deposit distributions of new and worn fan nozzles. The width of the spray pattern remained nearly constant but the worn nozzles delivered greater volumes of liquid in the centers of the patterns. Generally there was little difference in droplet size distributions between new and worn nozzles.

Book Synopsis Wood & Fire Safety by : Linda Makovicka Osvaldova
Download or read book Wood & Fire Safety written by Linda Makovicka Osvaldova and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-03-14 with total page 489 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This proceedings volume presents new scientific works of the research workers and experts from the field of Wood Science & Fire. It looks into the properties of various tree species across the continents affecting the fire-technical properties of wood and wood-based materials, its modifications, fire-retardant methods and other technological processes that have an impact on wood ignition and burning. The results of these findings have a direct impact on Building Construction and Design describing the fire safety of wooden buildings, mainly large and multi-story ones. The results of these experiments and findings may be applied, or are directly implemented into Fire Science, Hazard Control, Building Safety which makes the application of wood and wood materials in buildings possible, while maintaining strict fire regulations. One part of the contributions focuses on the symbiosis of the material and the fire-fighting technologies. Wood burning has its own specific features, therefore, the fire protection technologies need to be updated regularly. It also includes the issue of the intervention of fire-fighting and rescue teams in the fires of wooden buildings. Presentations deal with the issue of forest fires influenced by the climate changes, relief, fuel models based on the type and the age of the forest stand.
