Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cast Down But Not Destroyed is a book that contains the true story about a woman from North Philadelphia. It is a true story that offers hope and deliverance to the abused and wounded hearts of women everywhere that have experienced undeserved hardship and heartbreak. Notwithstanding, this book is useful for all genders alike. And after reading Cast Down But Not Destroyed you will be able to see a light at the end of your dark tunnel. The Bible states, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." So get ready to enjoy your morning; you are chosen to make it. Mary Bowman is a native Philadelphian. Born May 24, 1979, she is the eldest daughter of six siblings, and known for having been the more eventful. From an early age she attended church services with her mother, but it was her grandmother whom taught her more of what serving God truly meant. Her personal relationship with Jesus Christ can be traced back to her early childhood when she first received Him as Savior. Her life's experiences are rooted in her spirituality, even when she endured a period of wandering away from her spiritual roots. A very exciting, jubilant, and charismatically beautiful woman, she is loved by everyone she meets. Having overcome so many of life's obstacles, she now resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she is a devoted wife to her husband of eight years, and devoted mother to their young daughter. She also lives her life as a licensed Evangelist and Co-Pastor of Shabach Evangelistic Deliverance Temple in Philadelphia where her husband is pastor. She also evangelizes in the streets of Philadelphia with the Lions of Salvation, a City-wide Street Evangelism Outreach Team of Born-Again Believers, in an effort to compel the unsaved to receive Christ as Savior. This is her first book as a published author, and in reading it, you will not be disappointed.

Book excerpt: The quintessential or the essence of an abuser in its purest and most concentrated form cannot be unequivocally defined since the nature of this beast of burden is uniquely unpredictable. The spectrum can range from an unsuspicious lover to a married couple showing outward displays of affection. On the outside, everything appears normal until that fated day when the atmospheric change occurs and the definition of what seemed “normal” is disintegrated with questions and wonderment of how could “this” have happened. Domestic abuse appears to be a “buzz word” and progressively, it too will get clearer social and legal definition. It is particularly unimaginable that people who have attained from minimal to extraordinary visibility behave badly and still return to their field of professional concern seemingly without their punishment fitting their crime. As positive strides in the right direction are created to isolate a definition of fair and equitable punishment, perhaps that would diminish the overwhelming and insurmountable number of domestic abuse occurrences. While the journey toward the solution to domestic abuse is not one that can be so easily dispensed from a pill bottle as the answer unfortunately is much deeper than “take two pills and call me in the morning.” Everyone needs to take the time to consider life beyond the fog of despair. Th e journey of a thousand miles begins with the fi rst step. It is time to take your fi rst step. I did. Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Yes!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This autobiography Struck Down, but Not Destroyed is a vintage narrative of a struggling African American man who is committed to make something out of himself -- without blaming America for his problems along the way. This is a story of a hard working, courageous man of faith who persisted, at times against great odds, to affirm that even life in the rural South or the Northern ghetto can have integrity. This is an unpretentious attempt to celebrate small victories for those who are often in this world considered the least of these. These many unheralded stalwarts of faith have made solid contributions; and yet have survived numerous close calls! The sixteen chapters with helpful descriptive captions unfold in the chronological sequence of Brother McCasters life events against the background, doubts, and scares of his extended family and others associated with him. One cannot miss Reverend McCasters uncanny and profound sense of joy as it resounds throughout this exceptional testimony about the rewards for those who persist in the faith of our humble yet most inspiring forebears.

Book excerpt: Oft times we end up in certain circumstances and situations and inflict pain upon ourselves because of decisions we have made or allowed someone to make for us. Nevertheless, for every decision there will be consequences. There is purpose in each of us and whatever it takes the purpose shall be fulfilled. Sufferings, trials and tribulations come to make us strong in the Lord. God wants us to know him, not just by name or what we have read about him, not even by what we are taught, but God wants us to know exactly who He is. My late grandmother taught me the importance of knowing Psalm 23 in it's entirety. She loved it so much until she taught me to repeat, read and memorize it. Her words were of such, that if ever you get in trouble, every time you go for a job interview, every time your enemies get on your trail, every time you get sick, and every time you are faced with challenges, repeat Psalm 23 three times a day. After becoming an adult, faced with many challenges, I repeated Psalm 23 just as I was taught. I would even write my name in that passage of scripture wherever personal pronouns were used, to make it personal. What am I saying? What does this have to do with struggles? What does this have to do with being Cast Down, But Not Destroyed? Thanks for asking, because the answer to these questions and more are defined in the contents of this book. It is my greatest desire that as you read through the pages of this book you will find solutions to your problems, joy in times sorrow, peace in the midst of confusion, an increase in your faith, shelter from the storm, hope to face a new tomorrow, light in the dark areas of your life, healing for your soul, but most of all, God, the one who is able to carry you through whatever you are faced with in life. It behooves me to say, with a strong conviction, that it is one thing to read the Psalm, it's another to repeat the Psalm, and it's just wonderful when you can memorize the Psalm. However, it brings GREAT CONSOLATION not just knowing the Psalm but knowing the one in which David referred to in the Psalm. When you really know God to be a Shepherd, you don't mind being cast down, because you have that blessed assurance that you will not be destroyed.

Books that reveal all the correct "warfare" scriptures and the Theologies that men teach trying to explain those scriptures. However, unless you have physically and mentally experienced battle and lived to tell of it, you will never really understand the deception of our Enemy Satan. To say, "There is a Devil." Is a truth that all of us can affirm. Then again, to give testimony that, "I have looked into the eyes of Satan, felt his hands around my throat and was delivered as Daniel from the mouth of the Lions," Takes on a very different view of the subject.
