Un problème fondamental que l'on rencontre à bas nombre de Mach est que la vitesse d'écoulement du fluide et la célérité des ondes acoustiques dont il est le support relèvent d'échelles d'observation très différentes. L'algorithme retenu, de la forme estimation/correction, s'appuie sur une prise en compte implicite des termes véhiculant de l'information acoustique au sein de l'écoulement. Un rôle privilégié est attribué à la pression, qui joue un rôle-clef dans les découplages entre équations s'effectuant à mesure que le nombre de Mach décroît, comme cela apparaît lors des approches asymptotiques présentées. Les conditions d'interaction aéroacoustique à bas nombre de Mach, ainsi que les modalités de la disparition de cette interaction lorsque le nombre de Mach tend vers zéro, sont établies au niveau de la modélisation continue. Dans le cadre d'une méthode aux volumes finis d'ordre un centrés aux cellules, les propriétés asymptotiques continues peuvent être retrouvées au niveau discret à condition d'adopter l'interpolation centrée pour les pressions, flux de masse et vitesses aux interfaces entre cellules du maillage. L'effet d'une fluctuation de pression de fréquence acoustique sur l'énergie cinétique du gaz en écoulement est illustré numériquement avec ce choix d'interpolation, ainsi que le problème de découplage en damier qui apparaît alors. L'origine de ce problème est expliquée à l'aide d'une analyse asymptotique multi-échelle semi-discrète. Le défaut de consistance, au niveau asymptotique, de l'approximation numérique résultant de l'utilisation d'une dissipation numérique est discuté.

La motivation de ce travail provient de la volonté d'améliorer les prédictions d'écoulements diphasiques séparés par une interface. En particulier, on s'intéresse au déferlement de vagues qui emprisonnent une poche d'air. D'abord, on développe une formulation des équations de Navier-Stokes compressible qui permet de gérer plusieurs régimes d'écoulements compressibles dans le même domaine. Pour résoudre ce système d'équations, on utilise une formulation par éléments finis. Pour les problèmes instationnaires, on utilise la méthode des " Backward Differentiation Formula " (BDF) avec un estimateur d'erreur de troncature pour effectuer l'intégration temporelle. En plus, on utilise une formulation ALE qui laisse le maillage de se déplacer dans le temps pour lui permettre de suivre les déformations d'une ou plusieurs frontières du domaine (comme c'est le cas pour un écoulement avec interface). Ces outils mentionnés ci-haut sont déjà tous utilisés pour le calcul d'écoulements à interface, mais pour des fluides incompressibles seulement. Donc, le but de ce mémoire est d'implémenter dans les formulations les termes compressibles qui s'ajoutent aux équations incompressibles. Pour vérifier que l'implémentation est bien faite, on effectue la vérification par la méthode des solutions manufacturées. On présente d'abord un problème stationnaire compressible pour montrer que les termes stationnaires sont bien résolus suivi par une solution manufacturée instationnaire compressible qui fait intervenir tous les termes ajoutés. Ainsi, on peut vérifier que les méthodes BDF se comportent de la bonne façon pour l'estimation des dérivées temporelles de la pression et de la température (essentiellement les termes ajoutés par la formulation compressible). Ensuite, puisque le problème de la vague déferlante se caractérise par la compression d'une poche de gaz, on procède à la validation du code avec le problème de Bagnold. Ce problème en 1D consiste à évaluer la pression de l'air dans un contenant compressé par un piston. Une fois la validation terminée, on se lance dans le calcul final du cas de déferlement de la vague. Les résultats obtenus sont encourageants comparativement à la formulation tout incompressible, mais il reste du travail à faire pour obtenir un modèle qui représente le mieux possible la réalité

Des comparaisons sont faites avec d'autres simulations, des études théoriques et des données expériementales. Une méthode intégralle de Kirchhoff, basée sur une simple intégrale sur une surface englobant les sources sonores du milieu fluide (lesquelles sont déterminées par une simulation directe ou des grandes échelles en champ proche) a été ensuite implémentée pour estimer le champ lointain de pression acoustqiue. La méthode est appliquée au calcul de bruits de jets, et les résultats sont comparés à des études expérimentales et à d'autres simulations.
