Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Russ can’t keep a girlfriend around to save his life, thanks to his way-overactive libido. But it turns out there’s an easy solution for that problem—girls never have an issue finding a hot date, right? When Russ loses his third girlfriend in a row to his overly voracious need for getting down and dirty, he complains to his friends that a girl wouldn’t ever have this problem. Case in point: His friend Krystal, a lesbian who sleeps with dozens and dozens of hot dates. But since he’s not a girl, Krystal proposes an alternate solution: Why not go see a fortune teller and see if a little hypnosis can cure him of his appetites? At first, Russ is skeptical, and he’s right to be—the moment he shows up in Madame Orlando’s magic shop, she tells him that he doesn’t need hypnosis. He just needs a partner who’s right for him. But Russ insists, and after a long look into his soul, she sends him home with a magic bath bomb that he absolutely does not believe is going to do anything. His doubt lasts right up until the magic bath bomb does its thing and turns him into a beautiful woman! Now, as the gorgeous brunette Riley, he discovers that he loves being a girl more than he ever could have imagined, and he has no problem finding lovers of either gender. But when his string of endless one-night stands begins to leave him feeling a little empty inside, he begins to wonder… will he ever find the person he’s truly meant to be with? Or will he end up stuck forever as the bright, bubbly girl everyone likes to have a good time with, but no one wants to keep?

Book excerpt: My book is about helping people on their soul journey. All souls came here to this Earth plane for a reason, and that reason is to be in ‘Oneness’ with one another. Before incarnating here on Earth, every soul created for themselves a Divine Soul Plan, which is a life plan for all of us to walk our highest blueprint. However when we are born, we do not have this memory within our physical brains and it is up to everyone to eventually remember this subconsciously. However soul remembers and soul remembers that we are all here to work through our Soul Plan by overcoming the various challenges we have been presented with according to our karmic implications. As no two souls are the same, so too are no two soul plans will be the same. It is unique to each individual. We also have spiritual testing which we need to work through and pass. Spiritual Testings are never easy, and requires great understanding for one another in order to pass them. The key to passing spiritual testings and working through our karmic imbalances is to always be expressing love, understanding and forgiveness for one another. The key is to transmute or transform out all of our negative qualities to be positive Light. This book holds the key to passing your spiritual testings and tips on how to respond to negative situations rather than react negatively to them. If we just react and go in an ‘automatic pilot’ mode, then we will never achieve accomplishment within our purpose here. For example, if someone expresses hatred and disgust towards you, your instant reaction is to react back with hatred towards them; to mirror the very energy that is being expressed out to you. This is the trap that most of us find ourselves in- it is a trap because every time we express negative emotions such as hatred, that emotion and thought will manifest as energy. According to the Universal Law of Attraction, if you express out negative emotions then only negative emotions will find its way to you. Like attracts like- the same energy will attract the same energy. It will then be the same situations over and over again, never really experiencing joy, because you will only attract in negative situations, and the more negative situations you find yourself in, the harder it is for you to overcome them. This is what existence itself is all about. We are all Masters, however we need to express that out in every aspect of our lives towards others. This book is a sort of a guide on ways we can master our own emotions and also holds the keys to eternal joy and soul accomplishment.

Book excerpt: When you steal from the gods, they find the most creative ways to punish you… Lukas and his best friend Mal are Greek adventurers and warriors in the tradition of Jason, Odysseus, and a host of other heroes, and Lukas knows that despite his humble beginnings, he has the potential to take his place among those men as a legend of mythic proportions. But no one else believes in him, and so he sets out to prove them all wrong by undertaking a most Herculean task: climbing Mount Olympus and stealing Zeus’s golden crown. Zeus, however, is not amused, and Lukas’s theft is quickly punished with his swift and painful death—or so Zeus believes. But Aphrodite has other plans for such a bold and handsome hero: she rescues Lukas from death’s door and uses her powers to hide him away in the body of Lucia, a comely maiden who Zeus would never suspect of being the thief who took his crown. Now, Lucia has only a few days to convince Mal to help her find and return Zeus’s crown, before the other gods realize what Aphrodite has done and return Lucia to Hades… or worse, leave her trapped forever in the body of this maiden. She’ll need to move fast and decisively to win the day, which would be easy if she weren’t so distracted by all these strange new feelings of lust and attraction she’s having for her adventuring partner, Mal…

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a growing awareness of the important role that human genetics play in individual differences in human behavior. However, many behavioral scientists have little background in biology, much less training in genetics. This book is for students in the behavioral sciences who need to understand genetics, but who have little or no training in biology. The text provides the basic biology which is essential for an understanding of genetics and then provides a solid overview of the principles of genetics. Rather than provide a comprehensive analysis of the current literature on genetics, the author reviews a selected sample of the research that is most relevant to the social and behavioral sciences. Emphasis is placed on the role that genetics plays in regards to the behavioral sciences. In addition, a fully interactive website has been developed that includes quizzes, learning exercises, articles on advanced topics in genetics as well as links to other web resources on genetics. The resulting text is a strong resource that will help social scientists grasp the necessary basics of genetics in a way that no other book can. Features and Benefits: Rather than assume the reader possesses strong background in biology (as is done in other texts on this topic), Carey explains basic biological concepts while covering principles of genetics, evolution and evolutionary psychology, and the genetics of individual differences. Carey provides selective coverage of research in genetics with focus on areas with most relevance to social science. The emphasis is on integrating material so students can better appreciate the role of genetics in everyday human behavior. Pedagogical features include: chapter introductions; key terms highlighted in text; abundant figures and tables to visually support text discussion; text boxes that explore issues in depth; optional Advanced Topics sections that present technical issues at the end of selected chapters; and Suggested Readings at the end of each chapter to guide students to further information. An accompanying web site interactively introduces students to basic principles of genetics and provides quizzes, learning exercises, articles on advanced topics in genetics and links to a variety of web resources on genetics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a very personal reflection on the life of Belinda (BJ) Allder, a young missionary whose life was cut short through cancer. Her father, Bruce, a Christian pastor and educator, explores the influences that shaped BJ into an effective missionary who impacted many people around the world. BJ's own reflections of her journey of life and faith through the battle with cancer are shared through excerpts from her own daily journal. While the emotions expressed are raw, there is a celebration of life and grace in the midst of tragedy. In this authentic and intellectually honest reflection, the focus is on serving in the midst of suffering. How does one make sense of unanticipated and devastating circumstances that came the way of BJ and her family? How does one "lean into suffering" and allow that response to make a significant impact? How does a pastoral family deal with the faith questions that inevitably come as a result of this journey of suffering? These are some of the questions explored through the retelling of specific events in the life of BJ Allder and her family.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fact-filled, fun-filled, as interesting to parents as it is to kids, the How Come? series is the trusted source for lively, clear answers to kids’ science queries. Now the best questions and answers from all three books—How Come?; How Come? Planet Earth; and How Come? In the Neighborhood—have been revised, updated, freshly illustrated in full color, supplemented with twenty completely new questions, and combined into one bigger, better volume. How Come? explains, in fascinating detail, more than 200 mysteries and phenomena in the world around us. These are the questions that pique kids’ curiosity—and stump parents. When it rains, does running (rather than walking) to the nearest shelter really keep you any drier? How can a stone skip across a pond (instead of sink)? If the Earth is spinning, why can’t we feel it? Why don’t we fly off? Why do elephants have trunks? And the all-time classic, Why is the sky blue? (Sunlight has a hidden rainbow of colors, and air molecules scatter blues the most—sending bright blue light down to Earth.) The text is clearly written, engaging, and accessible. It’s for every kid who wants to know—and every grown-up who simply doesn’t know.
