Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This in-depth treatise presents conclusive evidence for an extremely close relationship between ancient Egyptian religious beliefs and the Book of Revelation. Practically all characters, scenes and series of scenes found in Revelation have parallels in mainstream Egyptian sources, including the Book of the Dead, the Amduat, Book of Gates, Book of Aker, Books of the Heavens and others. Parallel characters include Egypt's Apophis as Revelation's Satan while situations and activities in scenes include the judgment scene and singers by a lake of fire. Parallel sequences of scenes include those found in the 2nd to 12th Divisions of the Book of Gates and most of Revelation's Chapters 15-21. Allusions to the Book of Dead are common. Finally, a key conclusion: the entire structure of the Book of Revelation can be accounted for in the organization of text and paintings on the walls and ceilings of the tomb of Ramesses VI in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. Book excerpt: As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we sometimes don't realize how unique much of our doctrine is on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The Lord revealed through the young Prophet Joseph Smith important truths that had been lost regarding our Redeemer's great sacrifice. Were Adam and Eve forgiven for the Fall? Is it possible that there will be two separate resurrections? Will we inherit our Heavenly Father's kingdom? The answers to these truths are familiar to most Latter-day Saints today. However, there was a time when these revelations were not widely available; a time when Satan was desperately trying to keep these revolutionary truths buried in darkness. A first of its kind, Chad Morris's book New Light on the Atonement focuses on the first two years of the organized Church and the events surrounding the revelations that we now take for granted. Readers now have the opportunity to gain a greater knowledge of Joseph Smith and the restored truths that came through him regarding the most important sacrifice of all time, the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I am a preacher called by GOD, but I can not impress you with an array of college degrees. I am a blue collar skilled-labor licensed aircraft mechanic by trade, a skill that I leaned in the United States Air Force. God saved me and began to visit me when I was a fatherless boy of ten year's old living in the projects of Pittsburgh, Penn. The Lord was with me as a boy up until I went to Vietnam. After spending a total of three years in Viet-Nam, I returned home with many problems. I had experience the worst side of life, become unsaved with a problem with depression and alcohol. One day I called upon the name of the Lord, Nov 1979. I told God if he really existed and would speak to me, I would serve him. After what I had seen in life, I doubted if there was really a God, and if he even cared. God spoke to me, from then on the Lord Jesus has never stopped speaking to me some way or some how everyday of my life. He delivered me and cleaned me up; set me in a great ministry, the Pittsburgh Revival Center pastor by a true Apostle, Brother Dan and Sister Annie. The Apostle was known all over the area in the 50's until the 80's. There I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Also I have been licensed as a minister in the Pentecostal Assembly of the World, and the Church of God in Christ. For years the Lord has prepared me to teach and preach and anoint me for the end-time move of GOD. God Bless You Minister Howard Stevens

Book excerpt: This book is focused on Jesus's message to the seven churches. It's as relevant to us today as it was in John's day. In Revelation 1:3, Jesus says to keep the things which are written in it. Ask yourself, "What do you know about what Jesus Christ wants for you to do?" You may say, "I believe, I ask forgiveness of my sins, go to church, and that's it." Then you need to take a journey to discover what Jesus wants from us. It's easy to skim through a passage and say, "I got it," Just as I became engaged in researching and studying God's word. Hopefully, this results in a greater understanding of the passage. The key is the Bible itself; the Old and New Testaments are treasure troves of supporting verses. You will find the true meaning that God and Jesus Christ are telling you. In Matthew 7:7, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." I hope and pray that you will find this book helpful as you read through it and discover the true treasure.

Book excerpt: A profound exploration of the Bible's most controversial book—from the author of Beyond Belief and The Gnostic Gospels The strangest book of the New Testament, filled with visions of the Rapture, the whore of Babylon, and apocalyptic writing of the end of times, the Book of Revelation has fascinated readers for more than two thousand years, but where did it come from? And what are the meanings of its surreal images of dragons, monsters, angels, and cosmic war? Elaine Pagels, New York Times bestselling author and "the preeminent voice of biblical scholarship to the American public" (The Philadelphia Inquirer), elucidates the true history of this controversial book, uncovering its origins and the roots of dissent, violence, and division in the world's religions. Brilliantly weaving scholarship with a deep understanding of the human needs to which religion speaks, Pagels has written what may be the masterwork of her unique career.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Revelation has always been a mystery that is hard to understand, and therefore, most people just don’t read and study this last book in the Bible. In the summer of 2015, God Almighty put it into my mind and my heart that I should teach this great book to my Sunday school class and keep on schedule with the Baptist way and to teach it in the last of the summer quarter, which was only seven weeks! What, Lord? Seven weeks! It is impossible and how in the world could I, just a Baptist Sunday school teacher, teach this amazing and powerful book of End Times in so short of a time frame? I mean, Lord, television evangelists do weeks and weeks of series of this End Times book. I mean, Lord, they are knowledgeable in your Holy Word and have a staff of two hundred people at their beck and call for any reference. I mean, Lord, they have pictures. They have personalities that attract people. They are professional. Why me, Lord? You know I hardly even know how to turn on a computer, much less write a study of the last book of prophecy in just seven weeks!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revelation, by any modern standard, is a strange book. It has intrigued and perplexed readers through the centuries, and all too often has fallen victim to fanciful interpretations. Although it may seem mysterious and impenetrable to us today, it represents a distinct message in language and imagery that was familiar to the original readers, woven together into a beautiful tapestry of twenty-two interconnected chapters. The Book of Revelation: The Rest of the Story demonstrates that the key to understanding the message of Revelation is found in this intricate relationship between the seven "letters" and the rest of the book, with the visions of Revelation 4-22 building on, fleshing out, and driving home each of the messages to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3. In the end, Revelation proves to be not primarily a guide to how things are going to unfold at the end of the age, but rather a profound call to a life of radical devotion to Jesus regardless of one's circumstances.

It offers a thorough introduction to all twenty-seven books of the New Testament and closely examines events such as Christ’s incarnation and virgin birth, his crucifixion and resurrection, and triumphant return. The second edition features updated bibliographies and footnotes, interpretation sections that cover different literary genres in the New Testament, an epilogue that canvasses the entire storyline of Scripture, and a variety of maps. All of these new features contribute to making this a life-long resource for students of Scripture.
