Book excerpt: The most up-to-20011029 book on C programming for the Carbon API, Aqua user interface, and Mac OS X system software. Contains highly requested information within the Macintosh community by both individuals and instructors. Upon completion of the book, the reader will have sufficient knowledge to write a serious and useful Macintosh application in C and C++ that will run on Mac OS 8, 9, and the new OS X. Written by the author of MacTech magazine's popular online programming tutorial. Carbon Programming is a comprehensive guide that is logically organized, compatible with the current system software, and includes ready-to-run demonstration programs within each chapter. The book covers Mac programming using the Carbon API. Topics include Scrap, Event Manager, Appearance Manager, Controls, and Lists. Kevin Bricknell is the author of Macintosh C: Programming the Mac OS in C, Classic Edition, which was first published on the Internet in early 1996. The content is now hosted by MacTech magazine, the only monthly magazine focused on Macintosh technology and development, distributed in 64 countries, and read by tens of thousands of programmers and solution providers. Kevin brings the results of feedback from the readers of the previous edition, extending over five years, including confirmation that the basic format and level of content is appropriate to their needs and that the material is in high demand.

Book Synopsis Delay and Disruption Tolerant Networks by : Aloizio Pereira da Silva
Download or read book Delay and Disruption Tolerant Networks written by Aloizio Pereira da Silva and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-09-04 with total page 487 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Delay- and Disruption Tolerant Networks (DTNs) are networks subject to arbitrarily long-lived disruptions in connectivity and therefore cannot guarantee end-to-end connectivity at all times. Consequently DTNs called for novel core networking protocols since most existing Internet protocols rely on the network’s ability to maintain end-to-end communication between participating nodes. This book presents the fundamental principles that underline DTNs. It explains the state-of-the-art on DTNs, their architecture, protocols, and applications. It also explores DTN’s future technological trends and applications. Its main goal is to serve as a reference for researchers and practitioners.
Download or read book Cisco Networks written by Chris Carthern and published by Apress. This book was released on 2015-11-27 with total page 856 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a concise one-stop desk reference and synopsis of basic knowledge and skills for Cisco certification prep. For beginning and experienced network engineers tasked with building LAN, WAN, and data center connections, this book lays out clear directions for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networks with Cisco devices. The full range of certification topics is covered, including all aspects of IOS, NX-OS, and ASA software. The emphasis throughout is on solving the real-world challenges engineers face in configuring network devices, rather than on exhaustive descriptions of hardware features. This practical desk companion doubles as a comprehensive overview of the basic knowledge and skills needed by CCENT, CCNA, and CCNP exam takers. It distills a comprehensive library of cheat sheets, lab configurations, and advanced commands that the authors assembled as senior network engineers for the benefit of junior engineers they train, mentor on the job, and prepare for Cisco certification exams. Prior familiarity with Cisco routing and switching is desirable but not necessary, as Chris Carthern, Dr. Will Wilson, Noel Rivera, and Richard Bedwell start their book with a review of the basics of configuring routers and switches. All the more advanced chapters have labs and exercises to reinforce the concepts learned. This book differentiates itself from other Cisco books on the market by approaching network security from a hacker’s perspective. Not only does it provide network security recommendations but it teaches you how to use black-hat tools such as oclHashcat, Loki, Burp Suite, Scapy, Metasploit, and Kali to actually test the security concepts learned. Readers of Cisco Networks will learn How to configure Cisco switches, routers, and data center devices in typical corporate network architectures The skills and knowledge needed to pass Cisco CCENT, CCNA, and CCNP certification exams How to set up and configure at-home labs using virtual machines and lab exercises in the book to practice advanced Cisco commands How to implement networks of Cisco devices supporting WAN, LAN, and data center configurations How to implement secure network configurations and configure the Cisco ASA firewall How to use black-hat tools and network penetration techniques to test the security of your network

Book Synopsis FORTRAN Program for Generating a Two-dimensional Orthogonal Mesh Between Two Arbitrary Boundaries by : William D. McNally
Download or read book FORTRAN Program for Generating a Two-dimensional Orthogonal Mesh Between Two Arbitrary Boundaries written by William D. McNally and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A FORTRAN 4 program is presented which computes and plots coordinates for a two-dimensional orthogonal mesh in the region between the walls of a flow channel. The program is designed for a channel containing a body about which flow passes and which spans the channel from one wall to the other. However, the condition that the channel contain an immersed body can be easily removed from the program. Input to the program consists of spline points of the channel walls and the body geometry. Output includes printed and plotted coordinates of the generated orthogonal mesh and angles of the mesh with the horizontal plane.
