This collection contains three paranormal romances featuring vampires, witches, and shifters: Cure Bound, Moon Bound, & Union Bound. Three romances. Three twists of fate. One outcome. CURE BOUND: A Dark Vampire Paranormal Romance Fate no longer matters when revenge is too delicious. I vowed to wipe out the entire Sinclair coven after one of theirs took what mattered most to me. She’s all that’s left. Driven by centuries of hate and a long-standing vow, I strike the deal: sell her blood in exchange for her life. MOON BOUND: A Rejected Mates Shifter Romance Fate will not win when freedom is the heavy cost. I needed magic to save my dying father. She gives me more than I bargained for when I realize she’s my future. I won’t let her go, as even if she’s chosen to fight me on this, she belongs with me. UNION BOUND: An Arranged Marriage Witch Romance Fate always changes when emotions rule sanity. I have the magic of many, and with it, a wife I don’t want. But temptation is too compelling, and when one kiss turns into one night and one night turns into multiple, Adalyn is all I come to think about. She’s all I see. All I want. Until fate changes. The Witches' Bind Trilogy has content some readers may find triggering.

Book Synopsis Nuclear Medicine in Clinical Oncology by : Cuno Winkler
Download or read book Nuclear Medicine in Clinical Oncology written by Cuno Winkler and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The introduction of nuclear medicine into oncology dates back to the early 1 940s, when Lawrence reported on the tumor retention of 32P-phosphate, von Hevesy and von Euler soon afterwards published their fundamental work on the metabolism of phosphorus in sarcoma cells, and when almost at the same time Keston and his coworkers de scribed their observation of the accumulation of radioactive iodine in metastases of a thyroid carcinoma. Since that time innumerable publi cations have appeared in oncologic literature which deal with the application of nuclear medical methods in experimental cancer re search and also in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors. The significance of some originally very successfully applied clinical methods naturally has changed over the years. For instance, scin tigraphy became somewhat less important for the purely morpho logic assessment of certain tumors after the introduction of transmis sion computerized tomography and modem sonographic methods into clinical practice. On the other hand, however, it has also been possible to further develop scintigraphy to a decisive extent, both 'with refer ence to the test substances applied and in view of the instrumentation. As far as the scintigraphic equipment is concerned, the introduction of static and sequential digital imaging by means of scintillation camera computer systems in the mid-1960s represents important progress, as does the recent development of emission computerized tomography with single photon and positron emitters.

Download or read book Human Matter written by Rodrigo Rey Rosa and published by University of Texas Press. This book was released on 2019-05-28 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More than a decade ago, novelist Rodrigo Rey Rosa made his first visit to the Historical Archive of the Guatemala National Police, where millions of previously hidden records were being cataloged, scanned, and eventually published online. Bringing to light detailed evidence of crimes against humanity, the Archive Recovery Project inspired Rey Rosa to craft a meta-novel that weaves the language of arrest records and surveillance reports with the contemporary journal entries of a novelist (named Rodrigo) who is attempting to synthesize the stories of political activists, indigenous people, and other women and men who became ensnared in a deadly web of state-sponsored terrorism. When Rodrigo's access to the archive is suspended, he proceeds to the General Archives of Central America and the Library of Congress, also collaborating with the son of the Identification Bureau's former head in a relentless pursuit of understanding. Reminiscent of Roberto Bolaño's finely honed masterworks, Human Matter is both a tour de force of fiction and a sobering meditation on the realities of collective memory, raising timely questions about how our history is recorded and retold. Originally published in Spanish in 2009, its success demanded a subsequent publication in June of 2017.
Book Synopsis Technology and the Philosophy of Religion by : David Lewin
Download or read book Technology and the Philosophy of Religion written by David Lewin and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2010-09-13 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The last one hundred years has seen unimaginable technological progress transforming every aspect of human life. Yet we seem unable to shake a profound unease with the direction of modern technology and its ideological siblings, global capitalism and massive consumption. Philosophers such as Marcuse, Borgmann and especially Heidegger, have developed important analyses of technological society, however in this book David Lewin argues that their ideas have remained limited either by their secular context, or by the narrow conception of religion that they do allow. This study guides the reader along the newly formed paths of the philosophy of technology, arguing that where those paths come to an abrupt end, a religious discourse is needed to articulate the ultimate concerns that drive technological action. It calls for a meditation on the central insight of many religious traditions that, in an ultimate sense, we ‘know not what we do.’ To acknowledge that we know not what we do is the first step towards a theology of technology that draws upon insights from the mystical theological tradition, as well as from recent developments in the continental philosophy of religion.
