En revanche, peu d'articles apparaissent dans la littérature concernant l'état bucco-dentaire des enfants atteints de paralysie cérébrale et d'hémiparésie. Pourtant, les problèmes neuromusculaires inhérents à ce groupe de pathologies peuvent affecter de manière significative la santé orale. De façon directe, au travers des changements qu'ils entraînent dans les structures oro-faciales ou indirecte, par le développement de para-fonctions, les problèmes d'alimentation ainsi que les difficultés de réalisation des techniques d'hygiène. Le but de ce travail est de comprendre comment et dans quelle mesure la paralysie cérébrale de type hémiparésie affecte-t-elle la santé orale des enfants atteints. Et comment le chirurgien -dentiste peut-il participer à la préservation de la santé bucco-dentaire de ces enfants qui ont un quotidien déjà compliqué.
