Book Synopsis Static and Dynamic Shear Behavior of Uniformly Loaded Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams by : Robert A. Crist
Download or read book Static and Dynamic Shear Behavior of Uniformly Loaded Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams written by Robert A. Crist and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 560 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Behavioral equations were developed for reinforced concrete deep beams, especially in the realm of shear capacity. A series of static and dynamic beam tests was performed to aid in the development of this objective. Static shear behavior equations for deep beams were derived on the lower boundary of reinforced concrete deep beam data represented by research from this report and other research comprising 73 tests. Equations for a total static shear capacity are given which conservatively predict shear capacities of the beam tests considered. (Author).
Book Synopsis Shear Behavior of Deep Reinforced Concrete Beams. Volume V. Dynamic Compressive and Tensile Properties of Plain Concrete by : Robert A. Crist
Download or read book Shear Behavior of Deep Reinforced Concrete Beams. Volume V. Dynamic Compressive and Tensile Properties of Plain Concrete written by Robert A. Crist and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Static and dynamic unconfined compression and tensile splitting tests were performed to correlate reinforced concrete beam behavior data gathered in other research. Nominal static compressive strengths ranged from 2,500 psi to 4,000 psi. An average constant rate of stress of 279 ksi/sec was applied to 18 dynamic compression specimens which showed an increase of 11 percent for dynamic ultimate compressive strength above static ultimate compressive strength. The increase in dynamic tensile splitting strength was determined empirically to increase at a greater rate than the dynamic compressive strength for the same concrete range of stress rates. Book excerpt: Polymer Science and Innovative Applications: Materials, Techniques, and Future Developments introduces the science of innovative polymers and composites, their analysis via experimental techniques and simulation, and their utilization in a variety of application areas. This approach helps to unlock the potential of new materials for product design and other uses. The book also examines the role that these applications play in the human world, from pollution and health impacts, to their potential to make a positive contribution in areas including environmental remediation, medicine and healthcare, and renewable energy. Advantages, disadvantages, possibilities, and challenges relating to the utilization of polymers in human society are included. - Presents the latest advanced applications of polymers and their composites and identifies key areas for future development - Introduces the simulation methods and experimental techniques involved in the modification of polymer properties, supported by clear and detailed images and diagrams - Supports an interdisciplinary approach, enabling readers across different fields to harness the power of new materials for innovative applications
Book Synopsis Structural Concrete by : J. D. Davies
Download or read book Structural Concrete written by J. D. Davies and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-06-05 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Structural Concrete examines the behavior of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures under working load and ultimate load conditions. This eight-chapter text deals first with the analysis of concrete structures as a particular branch of structural mechanics. Other chapters explore the empirical methods and the practical design and detailing procedures. Considerable chapters describe the mechanical behavior of structural concrete, with a particular emphasis on the elastic behavior. The final chapters examine the behavior of continuous beams, frames, and slabs. These chapters also look into the models for structural concrete. This book is intended primarily to undergraduate civil engineering students.

Book Synopsis Design Procedures for the Use of Composites in Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Structures by : Carlo Pellegrino
Download or read book Design Procedures for the Use of Composites in Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Structures written by Carlo Pellegrino and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-08-25 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyses the current knowledge on structural behaviour of RC elements and structures strengthened with composite materials (experimental, analytical and numerical approaches for EBR and NSM), particularly in relation to the above topics, and the comparison of the predictions of the current available codes/recommendations/guidelines with selected experimental results. The book shows possible critical issues (discrepancies, lacunae, relevant parameters, test procedures, etc.) related to current code predictions or to evaluate their reliability, in order to develop more uniform methods and basic rules for design and control of FRP strengthened RC structures. General problems/critical issues are clarified on the basis of the actual experiences, detect discrepancies in existing codes, lacunae in knowledge and, concerning these identified subjects, provide proposals for improvements. The book will help to contribute to promote and consolidate a more qualified and conscious approach towards rehabilitation and strengthening existing RC structures with composites and their possible monitoring.
