Um Rechtsextremismus unter Jugendlichen vorbeugen zu können, ist es wichtig, die Ursachen zu kennen, welche mit dieser Arbeit geklärt werden sollen. Da Rechtsextremismus in Ostdeutschland vor allem auf politischen und historischen Ursachen aufbaut, sollte die Soziale Arbeit präventiv politische und interkulturelle Bildungsarbeit leisten. Eingangs wird das Phänomen des Rechtsextremismus allgemein, sowie speziell auf Jugend bezogen dargestellt. Daran anschließend werden zwei Erklärungsansätze vorgestellt, welche auf den Rechtsextremismus unter Jugendlichen in Ostdeutschland angewandt werden können. Es folgt eine kurze Skizzierung der Vorkommnisse rechtsextremistischer Taten unter Jugendlichen in Ostdeutschland, und anschließend einige ausgewählte Einflussfaktoren auf den jugendlichen Rechtsextremismus sowohl in der DDR als auch in Ostdeutschland nach der Wende. Die Arbeit schließt mit einem Fazit über die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse sowie das Interesse der Sozialen Arbeit daran.

But the onset of the Cold War and rising anti-communism allowed powerful Southerners to cast those rights as Soviet-inspired.
