Download or read book School Mental Health written by Stan Kutcher and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2015-05-05 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The realisation that most mental disorders have their onset before the age of twenty-five has focused psychiatric research towards adolescent mental health. This book provides vivid examples of school mental health innovations from eighteen countries, addressing mental health promotion and interventions. These initiatives and innovations enable readers from different regions and disciplines to apply strategies to help students achieve and maintain mental health, enhance their learning outcomes and access services, worldwide. Through case studies of existing programs, such as the integrated system of care approach in the USA, the school-based pathway to care framework in Canada, the therapeutic school consultation approach in Turkey and the REACH model in Singapore, it highlights challenges and solutions to building initiatives, even when resources are scarce. This will be essential reading for educators, health providers, policy makers, researchers and other stakeholders engaged in helping students achieve mental health and enhance their learning outcomes.

Book Synopsis Context and Contextuality by : Vyacheslav Tsvirinko
Download or read book Context and Contextuality written by Vyacheslav Tsvirinko and published by Langham Publishing. This book was released on 2018-01-31 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since 1988, hundreds of thousands of evangelical Christians have migrated to the United States of America from former Soviet Union countries, establishing many Russian-speaking immigrant congregations across the country. This study analyzes how these immigrant churches function in their new cultural, social, and religious context. Dr Vyacheslav Tsvirinko, a Russian who lived in the USA for over twenty-five years, examines the holism, authenticity and contextuality of the mission work done by churches in the Pacific Coast Slavic Baptist Association (PCSBA) in America. He defines authentic mission in light of three major Christian groups – the World Council of Churches, the Lausanne Movement, and Anabaptists – and uncovers startling insights on how PCSBA churches engage in mission, both back in their homeland and in the USA. The findings and conclusions of this work are invaluable to diasporic Christian communities who wish to address their authenticity in the way they do mission, both internationally and in their local context, creating a path to more fruitful gospel and kingdom work.
Download or read book Looking at Art written by Peter V. Moak and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2013-05-08 with total page 59 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This guide contains a new approach to looking at and appreciating art. One not found elsewhere. It makes you aware of abilities you already have to see things in various ways. The key to these abilities is what I call the visual ego, the place between your eyes from which you see the world. The guide then describes a series of particular ways of seeing and making works of art. Finally, it applies these ways, which I call perspectives to works of art, painting, sculpture, architecture, and the decorative arts covering a period of some seventy thousand years. The results I find to be amazing, including new understandings and appreciation of many works of art and artists and their place in the history of art.
