But I’m sure you’ve noticed how some people have fortress-like protection against colds while others succumb to whatever infection is making the rounds. Are some of us predestined to get sick as soon as a sizable number of viruses and bacteria are around? By no means! All we have to do is hand our immune system the right tools, armory and suitable resources for it to build up adequate defenses against viruses and bacteria. A whole range of simple yet effective tricks and therapies exist which strengthen the body’s defenses, fortifying it against unwelcome diseases. If you take to heart what is said here about these measures, in no time at all you will be giving the cold shoulder to coughs and sneezes – and at the same time becoming fitter and healthier as you experience a completely new body sensation and feeling of well-being.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 KJV Andrew Murray once said, "Jesus came to deliver men from sin and sickness that He might make known the love of the Father." Yet we live in a skeptical world where millions are not convinced that God still performs miracles today. Small wonder that even in Christian churches, few people avail themselves of God's gracious provision of healing. God's Word for Your Healing is a powerful tool for anyone who has ever experienced doubts about God's desire to heal - or who simply wants to know more about what the Bible has to say on healing. But this book is truly for the person who needs hope and instruction on how to receive a divine healing touch from God in their own life right now.

Book excerpt: Ray Cummings was an American author of science fiction literature and comic books. Cummings is identified as one of the "founding fathers" of the science fiction genre. His most highly regarded fictional work was the novel The Girl in the Golden Atom, which was a consolidation of a short story by the same name. For this novel Cummings combined the idea of Fitz James O'Brien's The Diamond Lens with H. G. Wells's The Time Machine. During the 1940s, Cummings anonymously scripted comic book stories for Timely Comics, the predecessor to Marvel Comics. He recycled the plot of The Girl in the Golden Atom

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an insiders account of 50 years of genetic studies of the soil-inhabiting microbes that produce most of the antibiotics used to treat infections, as well as anti-cancer, anti-parasitic and immunosuppressant drugs. The book begins by describing how these microbes the actinomycetes were discovered in the latter part of the nineteenth century, but remained a Cinderella group until, in the 1940s, they shot to prominence with the discovery of streptomycin, the first effective treatment for tuberculosis and only the second antibiotic, after penicillin, to become a medical marvel. There followed a massive effort over several decades to find further treatments for infectious diseases and cancer, tempered by the rise of antibiotic resistance consequent on antibiotic misuse and over-use. The book goes on to describe the discovery of gene exchange in the actinomycetes in the context of the rise of microbial genetics in the mid-20th century, leading to determination of the complete DNA sequence of a model member of the group at the turn of the millennium. There follow chapters in which the intricate molecular machinery that adapts the organisms metabolism and development to life in the soil, including antibiotic production, is illuminated by the DNA blueprint. Then come an up-to-the minute account of the use of genetic engineering to make novel, hybrid, antibiotics, and a topical description of techniques to learn the roles of the thousands of genes in a genome sequence, throwing a powerful light on the biology of the organisms and their harnessing for increasing antibiotic productivity. In the final chapter we return to the mycobacteria that cause tuberculosis and leprosy, the first actinomycetes to be discovered, and how methodology, in part derived from the study of the streptomycetes, is being applied to understand and control these still deadly pathogens.

THE CRYSTAL WARRIOR, Book One: When career-focused dancer Chalcedony (Chalcey) accidentally breaks a wulfenite crystal, she’s confronted by a man dressed like an ad for We Love Leather. Wulf has finally escaped from a centuries-long hell and he wants Chalcedony more than anything he’s wanted in his entire life. Before either of them realize what’s at stake, Chalcey is bonded to Wulf and his life is in her hands. And when the Crystal Guardian’s curse threatens everything she’s worked for, Chalcey must figure out how to save Wulf before it’s too late. (Winner: Romance Writers of New Zealand Clendon Award for full-length romantic manuscript) RUBY'S DREAM, Book Two: Ruby’s plus-sized, boyfriend-less, and turning thirty. But things are looking up when her BFF gives her a piece of kyanite crystal, and Ruby encounters the most beautiful man she’s ever seen. Wow, best birthday present ever! Pity a veritable Adonis like Kyan couldn’t possibly be attracted to someone like her. Kyan can’t figure what makes Ruby tick and seducing her proves to be a big mistake because now he wants more than Ruby’s prepared to give. They both think they’ve got plenty of time to sort through this mess… and then the Crystal Guardian intervenes, and time runs out for them both. JADE'S CHOICE, Book Three: Jade’s so desperate to provide for her chronically ill sister that she decides to sell herself. Her first “client” turns out to be the Crystal Guardian, who promptly locks Jade in a motel room with Malach, the Crystal Warrior destined to be her life-mate. Malach is a complex, compelling man, and he soon captures Jade’s heart. But Malach has a dark secret: he plans to kill himself rather than risk being imprisoned in his cursed crystal a third time. And saving him could be a losing battle… because he’s still in love with the woman who refused to bond with him decades ago. Also available in The Crystal Warriors Series: OPAL'S WISH (Book 4, Opal & Danbur's story)
