Book excerpt: Find out how to increase your marketing success with this book on neuro-advertising. Marketing is one of the most important departments in a company. It is responsible for attracting new customers and retaining existing customers. Unfortunately, in many cases, high budgets are spent on marketing strategies that have little effect. This book on neuro-advertising will help you to effectively increase the impact of your advertising. It is based on the "Subconscious Decision Marketing Index" (SDMI). This neuroscientific method represents a new marketing tool that can be used to measure the subconscious impact of advertising. These include: Facial features Body Reactions Emotions Brain activity In this way, advertising strategies can be effectively planned and marketing efficiency sustainably increased. It is measured how successful advertising is or is not. Then advertising measures can be designed according to the target group. Marketing agencies can benefit from this technique as well as marketers working for companies. Key figures help to compare results Typically, it is difficult to measure unconscious emotions and emotions. However, this new method manages to do just that by creating metrics in the context of consumer research. In this way, individual indices of marketing effectiveness can be measured: Emotional Index: What emotions does advertising trigger? Benefit Index: To what extent does the advertising convince with brain-appropriate benefits? Memory index: How high is the actual memory value? Hormone index: Which hormonal reactions are triggered and how do they influence the buying process of customers? Impulse Index: How well does advertising use impulse opportunities? In turn, you can easily compare these indices with previous measurements and derive clear recommendations for action. The book on neuro-advertising explains this method in a practical way, allowing you to integrate it directly into your marketing planning.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digitalization is inexorably conquering our lives - also with artificial intelligence (AI) methods. Search engine operators, social network operators and shipping platform operators know more and more about us, about our buying and living habits. User data has become a valuable commodity. We live and work with computer systems that behave intelligently or are even intelligent. Questions like "Can machines be intelligent?" or "Can they have emotions or a consciousness?" keep popping up. To enable readers to form their own opinion on these questions, the authors clearly explain individual techniques or methods of AI and relate them to approaches from philosophy, art and neurobiology. Topics such as logical reasoning, knowledge and memory play just as important a role as machine learning and artificial neural networks. In the foreground is the question of what constitutes memory and thinking, what role our emotions play when we as humans move through life, through the world. A book that offers unusual perspectives on artificial intelligence.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book offers a comprehensive approach to the assessment and treatment of disturbances in facial expression, oral movement, swallowing, breathing, voice and speech production caused by developmental and acquired neurological conditions. The principles outlined are used in patients with different etiologies (e.g. stroke, tumors, traumas). F.O.T. T., developed by Kay Coombes, is a hands-on approach based on an understanding of neurological functions and the way we learn from experience. The approach aims to give the patient experience of physiological posture and movement using facial-oral functions in normal activities of daily living (ADL). Rather than mere “exercises”, F.O.T.T involves meaningful activities aiming to promote participation, according to ICF criteria. Four main areas are covered: nutrition, oral hygiene, nonverbal communication and speech. Each chapter summarises the problems of severely ill patients and shows the clinical reasoning behind the solutions offered. Separate chapters discuss tracheostomy management and the training of the carers involved, including relatives. The chapter authors are experienced specialists (physio-, occupational- and speech-language therapists and physicians), whose contributions aim to provide interdisciplinary perspectives and translate latest research into clinical practice.

It is about solving mental blocks. Why don't we do something, even though we long for it? Why don't we achieve our goals? Why are we unhappy, depressed and suffered from terrible fears? Something is in our head, which inhibits ourselves. Limits ourselves. So much, that we are not fulfilling our potential and prevent ourselves from being successful. How psychotherapy or coaching, based on physical and physiological - especially neuro-electric - principles can work, can be read here. The humorous work-up is just as informative for laymen as for experienced therapists.

Book excerpt: The fundamental work for a new psychological understanding of schizophrenic disorders: A cognitive theory of neuroses based on memory psychology for the first time leads to the knowledge of neurotic-psychotic developments as a result of the Overencoding of irrational neurotic attitude structures in memory. They lead to one-sided search processes in the memory and provoke extremely irrational (delusional) processing errors and further overneurotic changes in the thinking, feeling and acting of the schizophrenic. A comparison with the disturbable artificial intelligence of an Internet search engine serves to illustrate memory-psychological connections. A four-stage psychotherapy of schizophrenic disorders based on the Overencoding theory is presented in contrast to conventional neurosis therapy and discussed in an article by Prof. Manfred Bleuler.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A system theory of the mind? It sounds like cybernetics, chaos theory, autopoiesis, or the theory of mind (TOM). This monograph, however, aims to break new ground. Leafing through this book, one notices formulae and unusual characters which seem to join forces and walk across the pages like centipedes. This book is more than challenging for readers who do not come into contact with mathematics regularly. And this is how the author believes he can explain what nobody has thus far been able to explain – how can the mind be understood and how can its state variables be calculated? He draws on quantum physics, a field that is oft en not understood even by its own practitioners. How can such a book expect to reach readers and how can the views included here expect to find adherents? Even scientists who devote themselves to research on the mind are likely to eschew the imaginary and complex numbers, Fourier transformations and quaternions presented here in favour of more established and conventional approaches. Once one has started reading, it soon becomes apparent that it might not be wise – or even possible – to ignore the ideas presented here for long. Prof. Dr. Gerald Wolf (from the foreword) A very interesting book. Explaining mental processes with mathematic formulae seems to be adventurous. However, it is a promising approach! Prof. Dr. Pauen, Humboldt-University Berlin
