Book Synopsis Meta-Magick: The Book of ATEM by : Philip H. Farber
Download or read book Meta-Magick: The Book of ATEM written by Philip H. Farber and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 2008-07-01 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Meta-Magick: The Book of Atem, Philip H. Farber combines traditional ritual sensibilities with contemporary concepts of neurolinguistics and memetics to create a unique entity - Atem. In this instance, the essence of an entity is encoded in a book and activated by the reader. At the same time, the book is a comprehensive manual of evocation, containing dozens of easy-to-follow rituals and exercises for exploring and creating magical entities of every sort. Farber teaches readers to wake up from their habitual trance, to reprogram themselves to stand in the Mystery without unnecessary mystification. This supercharged fusion of tried-and-true magical and psychological techniques moves beyond trauma, healing, and recovery into self-fulfillment and self-transformation. Combining both disciplines with methods such as intentionality, autohypnosis, visualization, personification, and experiential journeys, Farber creates a powerful system that opens the way to peak experiences, self-knowledge, even cosmic consciousness. Rather than importing standardized healing images, readers learn to create their own emergent metaphors, their own creative strengths and flexible freedom.

Book Synopsis Contemporary Plays by African Women by : Sophia Kwachuh Mempuh
Download or read book Contemporary Plays by African Women written by Sophia Kwachuh Mempuh and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2019-01-24 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume uniquely draws together seven contemporary plays by a selection of the finest African women writers and practitioners from across the continent, offering a rich and diverse portrait of identity, politics, culture, gender issues and society in contemporary Africa. Niqabi Ninja by Sara Shaarawi (Egypt) is set in Cairo during the chaotic time of the Egyptian uprising. Not That Woman by Tosin Jobi-Tume (Nigeria) addresses issues of violence against women in Nigeria and its attendant conspiracy of silence. The play advocates zero-tolerance for violence against women and urges women to bury shame and speak out rather than suffer in silence. I Want To Fly by Thembelihle Moyo (Zimbabwe) tells the story of an African girl who wants to be a pilot. It looks at how patriarchal society shapes the thinking of men regarding lobola (bride price), how women endure abusive men and the role society at large plays in these issues. Silent Voices by Adong Judith (Uganda) is a one-act play based on interviews with people involved in the LRA and the effects of the civil war in Uganda. It critiques this, and by implication, other truth commissions. Unsettled by JC Niala (Kenya) deals with gender violence, land issues and relations of both black and white Kenyans living in, and returning to, the country. Mbuzeni by Koleka Putuma (South Africa) is a story of four female orphans, aged eight to twelve, their sisterhood and their fixation with death and burials. It explores the unseen force that governs and dictates the laws that the villagers live by. Bonganyi by Sophia Kwachuh Mempuh (Cameroon) depicts the effects of colonialism as told through the story of a slave girl: a singer and dancer, who wants to win a competition to free her family. Each play also includes a biography of the playwright, the writer's own artistic statement, a production history of the play and a critical contextualisation of the theatrical landscape from which each woman is writing.

Book Synopsis Shards of Illumination II by : Ralph Ellis
Download or read book Shards of Illumination II written by Ralph Ellis and published by Edfu Books Ltd. This book was released on 2024-03-11 with total page 644 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: *** eBook edition, with colour images *** Description: The Shards series are a compilation of hundreds of posts and articles I have written during 2022 and 2023. Both volumes cover a large selection of topics, from alternative biblical exegesis, to energy policy criticism, to climate deception, and to covid idiocy. Yet the disinformation and gaslighting continues unabated, and has even surpassed the peak of just two years ago. When will it end, I hear you ask? Only when we stand up to it, and call it out in public. Our new age is not the Anthropocene, it is actually the Deceptocene. Thus we see: Clerics only telling their flocks half of the gospel story. Medics refusing to investigate alternative therapeutics. Climate scientists amending and cherry-picking data. The media not investigating alternate facts and data. Academics jumping on bandwagons for grant funding. Politicians using cherry-picked data to their advantage. These many deceptions can only be the result of intentional deceit, not mere incompetence. Although these deceits are invigorated by bandwagon-riders - those who seek personal advantage through turning a blind-eye to the corruption. It is time to stand up to the Woke cry-bullies, and break through the deception. V1.9 2024 eBook colour. .
