Airframe production at the depots was low at the start of the war, totaling 9 in December 1941, but rose during 1942 and 1943, reaching a peak of 138 in December 1943 (figure The December 1943 production constituted 6 percent of the production of the entire industry for that month Thereafter until the end of the war, the trend was downward.
