Se la fisica quantistica dimostra che l'osservatore è determinante nella formazione della realtà, una Teoria Quantistica della Coscienza dovrebbe dimostrare non solo che la nostra coscienza è alla base della realtà, ma che l'informazione quantistica è in grado d'esistere al di fuori del corpo a tempo indeterminato. Ma allora la morte, come noi la conosciamo, altro non sarebbe che una «messa in scena» all'interno dell'illusione dello spazio-tempo generata dalla nostra coscienza con uno scopo ben preciso. Qual'è questo scopo? E soprattutto, la nostra vita ha un senso? Se esiste, qual'é? Di fronte a queste domande, anche i misteri più complessi del cosmo, come «cosa ha scatenato il Big Bang?» o «cosa c'era prima del tempo?», risultano di fatto irrilevanti. La particella di coscienza, o fattore di autocoscienza, potrebbe essere la chiave per smascherare l'illusione: come il 'gravitone' sarebbe capace di "saltare" da un universo all'altro, in accordo con gli schemi dell'interpretazione a molti mondi. Ed alcuni esperimenti sarebbero davvero in grado di fornircene la prova.Questi frammenti di prove sembrano sparpagliarsi tra le varie linee ed i vari livelli della realtà, dove possono essere quasi "toccati con mano" attraverso esperimenti borderline, dove tracce di linee di realtà sviluppate in universi paralleli, vengono "impiantate" nel subconscio di soggetti appartenenti alle medesime linee di realtà. Ma se viviamo davvero in un complesso multiverso dove le nostre particelle di coscienza fluttuerebbero secondo degli schemi precisi, la domanda che sorge conseguentemente è - «qual'è lo scopo dell'esperienza che facciamo nello spazio e nel tempo qui sulla Terra? » La risposta va cercata evidentemente nei livelli più alti della realtà, dove sembra aprirsi un mondo completamente sconosciuto. Quasi tutti i fisici più noti concordano che è diventato ormai impossibile trovare le risposte a queste domande senza mettere in primo piano la coscienza dell'osservatore. Negli ultimi 65-70 anni, una serie di straordinarie intuizioni e scoperte, hanno portato l'uomo a formulare alcune delle idee e teorie più complesse che la mente umana abbia mai prodotto. E con esse, scenari davvero inimmaginabili fino a qualche anno fa. In questo libro si cerca di ricomporre un puzzle formato da alcune tessere fondamentali che provengono da diverse discipline, da alcuni degli esperimenti più noti e da altri assolutamente mai divulgati prima d'ora. Cercheremo di capire se davvero viviamo dentro una grande illusione come il prodotto di un sogno perpetuo e senza un vero senso, al di là del tempo, o se siamo invece creature energetiche immortali momentaneamente sottoposte all'esperienza dell'illusione dello spazio-tempo. Ma andiamo per gradi: tutto inizia sempre dall'irrisolta questione del libero arbitrio che si propaga, come un'ombra minacciosa e oscura, sulle più importanti scoperte della fisica quantistica e sulle più interessanti teorie mistiche, dalle equazioni di Schrödinger, ai molti mondi di Everett, dall'universo matematico di Tegmark al campo d'informazione di Zeland, dal biocentrismo di Lanza alla teoria dei buchi neri di Hawking. E che fa intravedere, qua e là, un meraviglioso multiverso di materia ed energia, governata dalla coscienza secondo uno schema, un programma. Ci inoltreremo senza timore oltre i limiti della fisica e della scienza ufficiale, per dare un'occhiata al programma che Dio ha riservato per noi, o che noi abbiamo riservato per Dio in uno straordinario destino congiunto e sincronico.
