Download or read book Analysis of Exhaust Gases from The XM-19 Rifle -- An Application of Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectroscopy written by and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A technique combining gas chromatographic and mass spectrometric analysis was developed and applied to determine the chemical composition of gases resulting from firing the XM-19 rifle with the XM-645 flechette round. Cyanogen, carbonyl sulfide, carbon monoxide, nitrous and nitric oxides were among the products detected. Quantitative data were obtained for some of the components. Thermodynamic equilibrium calculations were performed and compared with the experimental results. (Author).
Book Synopsis Practical Gas Chromatography by : Katja Dettmer-Wilde
Download or read book Practical Gas Chromatography written by Katja Dettmer-Wilde and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-11-05 with total page 904 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gas chromatography continues to be one of the most widely used analytical techniques, since its applications today expand into fields such as biomarker research or metabolomics. This new practical textbook enables the reader to make full use of gas chromatography. Essential fundamentals and their implications for the practical work at the instrument are provided, as well as details on the instrumentation such as inlet systems, columns and detectors. Specialized techniques from all aspects of GC are introduced ranging from sample preparation, solvent-free injection techniques, and pyrolysis GC, to separation including fast GC and comprehensive GCxGC and finally detection, such as GC-MS and element-specific detection. Various fields of application such as enantiomer, food, flavor and fragrance analysis, physicochemical measurements, forensic toxicology, and clinical analysis are discussed as well as cutting-edge application in metabolomics is covered.

Download or read book Gas Chromatography written by Peter Kusch and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2019-09-04 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gas chromatography (GC) is one of the most important types of chromatography used in analytical chemistry for separating and analyzing chemical organic compounds. Today, gas chromatography is one of the most widespread investigation methods of instrumental analysis. This technique is used in the laboratories of chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries, in research institutes, and also in clinical, environmental, and food and beverage analysis. This book is the outcome of contributions by experts in the field of gas chromatography and includes a short history of gas chromatography, an overview of derivatization methods and sample preparation techniques, a comprehensive study on pyrazole mass spectrometric fragmentation, and a GC/MS/MS method for the determination and quantification of pesticide residues in grape samples.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differing legislation between the countries or unions of countries involved in pollution reduction has turned gas measuring technology into such an extremely extensive and complex field that only a few specialists in environmental agencies and the automobile industry have a grasp of it. This book is intended as an overview of the basics of exhaust gas measuring technology describing the interrelation between emissions, immissions and the effects of pollutants. It aims to provide experts and students alike with an understanding of the interrelationships and details within this field. The results presented are based on the experience gathered by the author during work spanning more than two decades in the automobile industry.
