Efforts have been made by sending out personal letters and by appeals to bring the work of this Hospital before a large number of people, and this effort to secure an increasing number of annual contributors has met with success. During the past year, as hitherto, Mr. John Pierpont Morgan, by his most generous support, has made it possible for the Board of Governors to meet the annual cost of running the Hospital. The Board, however, looks with confidence to ever increasing interest on the part Of the public spirited citizens of New York, and trusts that they will rally to the support of this work; and by annual subscriptions and gifts, or by benefactions through their wills, make it possible to support the Hospital without leaning so heavily, as has been the case in the past, upon Mr. Morgan.
