Book excerpt: Defeat looms over the company of Ornan as their quest has seemingly failed. But by the grace of Vashaar Burdep is spared to fight another day. As the company continues the search for the seven firstborn of Domus-Lux the pressure mounts upon Kerj-Oruras to respond. As armies march and the death cloud of the north infringes on the boarder of Hennyfed an all-out war with Oruras seems inevitable. The company continues to struggle from within as threats from spies, saboteurs and traitors mount. With the added conflict from Oruras armies the company is once more faced with the possibility of falling from with. Burdep concludes that if the company is to have victory then he must throw aside his doubts and trust his closest friends and lean wholeheartedly on the grace of Vashaar. In spite of the conflict Burdep must still find a way to revive the Blade of Ornan and reclaim his homeland from his fathers advisor. If he fails to become chieftain then the hope of Domus-Lux could fail with him and the Age of Ornan come to a close in a most terrible fashion, but with victory comes the possibility of giving Oruras the push that he is looking for to march on Domus-Lux and for the first time in two thousand years force the enemy into the Unveiling of Oruras Power.
Book Synopsis The Theory of Being by : Sherry K. Watt
Download or read book The Theory of Being written by Sherry K. Watt and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-07-03 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a state-of-the-art, robust, and adaptable process, the Theory of Being, that offers strategies for working across Difference, and for embarking on constructive dialogue around the issues that drive us apart, both individually and collectively. Whether around racial, gender, and/or social class inequity, core beliefs, uses of power or other points of cultural conflict, this book offers a research-validated approach, developed and refined over twenty years, to engage in difficult dialogues. The Theory of Being includes personal, relational, and community practices that support individuals and communities to better work through the difficult dialogues necessary to transform systems of structural inequity. It describes and offers applications of Being to help the reader understand and apply principles and practices that invite openness to controversy through facilitating deep reflection and shifting the focus of conflict from individuals to centering the issue of contention as a Third Thing about which participants can more safely express experiences and emotions.Via cases and narratives, the editors and contributors demonstrate how, through productively situating feelings of vulnerability and anger, individuals, organizations, and communities can work together to continuously evolve responsive, inclusive, and equitable practices that value social and cultural differences. This book focuses on strategies for the “how” we interact, demonstrating an orientation to process rather than prioritizing outcomes. A process-orientation can increase the quality of interaction between individuals, and the likelihood of traversing problems associated with controversial social difference in ways that result in sustainable strategies to disrupt systems of oppression. A range of applications exemplify this approach throughout the text. The primary audience is higher education leaders and leaders-in-training including student affairs professional staff, campus administrators, higher education and student affairs faculty, and undergraduate and graduate students. However, the approach has broad implications for any persons who want to productively engage across Difference in their personal and/or professional lives.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Avant-garde poet and popular culture icon, Allen Ginsberg has been one of the world's most important writers for over 40 years. This comprehensive bibliography, covering the years 1941 to 1994, was prepared with the cooperation of the poet himself. All books, periodicals, photographs, recordings, films, and miscellaneous appearances are listed here. Entries are grouped in chapters according to type of work, and each entry provides full descriptive bibliographic information. Allen Ginsberg is perhaps the most famous poet of our time, as well as one of our most prolific writers. His subjects range from Buddhist studies to drug research to gay rights to political issues of every description from Vietnam to censorship. Ginsberg gave the author access to personal files and, as a result, every appearance of Ginsberg's writings in the English language is noted. This bibliography is a comprehensive, descriptive record of all of Ginsberg's works. The volume contains descriptive annotations of every book, pamphlet, and broadside by Ginsberg. It also contains complete descriptions of every contribution by Ginsberg to the works of others. In addition, all periodical contributions, recordings, films, and miscellaneous publications are listed. Due to Ginsberg's recent acceptance as a photographer of note, a special section identifies all of his published photographs. Entries are arranged in chapters according to the type of work, to facilitate ease of use. As a result, this book presents a history of Ginsberg's works and traces the evolution of his writings over a period of publications and revisions.

Book Synopsis Siamese State Ceremonies by : H. G. Quaritch Wales
Download or read book Siamese State Ceremonies written by H. G. Quaritch Wales and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-05-23 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To students of Indian Culture interested in tracing the influence of India in the institutions of her Cultural Colonies, as also to Anthropologists, the Religious Festivals and Court Ceremonies, which still remain the most characteristic features of Siamese social life, offer an important field for research. Yet the subject has been little touched by scholars. Therefore a pioneer work of this nature can only be regarded as an attempt to lay a foundation for further studies, and the author hopes that other students—particularly those Siamese possessed of an extensive knowledge of their own literature and customs—may be encouraged to endeavour to fill those gaps which remain in our knowledge of most of the Siamese State Ceremonies. First Published in 1995. Routledge is an imprint of Taylor & Francis, an informa company.
